I was always a huge fan of mythological critters that were more symbolic representations of abstract concepts than normal organic creatures. I always wanted to design something like that myself so here he is.
This is Luke. He's a deity that represents the concept of reincarnation and transformation. The way he works is on his body are three circular mirrors, the one on his right represents past forms, the mirror on his chest represents present form, and his left hand represents a form one will take in the future. The mirrors are about average human height and the change of forms is triggered by observing yourself through them.
There are many beings that represent abstract concepts in his world, though most don't visit Earth. Luke does however because as his name implies, he was once a human and has a need to socialize. After all what else to better represent the idea of transforming than someone who has transformed.
Despite being able to disguise himself as a human, he has a hard time fitting in, and often speaks in a distilled robotic intellectual tone.
