Phew, this one took longer than expected but it was a fun bit of practice! I'd like to do more stuff like this but it's so time consuming, so I'll probably just stick to short loops.

tried uploading a larger file but it broke, plus it really highlights how the gradient looks off. Oh well, I'll learn to make nicer ones in the future

Yeah, it would probably also put me off of it honestly. Not really because it wouldn't be worth the price(which it most likely would and more from looking at this, holy shit O.O) but more because of my limited funds at the moment. It would be a thing I could only dream about for the future sometime :)
I tried to animate in photoshop before and I got so confused! I brought this into photoshop after it was cleaned up and flatted in tvpaint , and jazzed up the line work, added gradients and some effects to help separate the tail but even then it was such a pain! I tried batch processing and it only sometimes worked. The joys of animation!
Yeah it takes a while to get used to, but once you get the hang of setting up a good workstation it's really good. But understandably it doesn't compare to the ease of Tv Paint and other animation centric software. Perhaps I'll save up for Tv Paint, you're definitely selling it to me! :)
I don't technically own it, I've a copy on loan from the studio I worked at last while they're not in production. But you can find cracks of tvpaint 10 pretty easily online, it just doesn't have one really handy colouring layer which basically colours everything for you perfectly
