I seem to be chipping away at this here art block of mine. I've been working on this off and on for a few days Why? Cuz I'm gay for Pit Bulls! About the title, recently I was wastching some sort of news of TV and they asked "What would you miss when it's gone forever" and my first thought was Pit Bulls. They've been in this country almost as long as europeans have and though widely respected then, now are the media's scapegoats. It's sad really I mean most rumors about APBT's aren't even accrurate. I'm gonna stop myself cuz I could go on forever about saving Pit Bulls and how I despise BSL(Breed Specific Legislation) which believes that some breeds should be banned instead of promoting responsable dog onwership and early training and that goes for all breeds.
Back to the art here you finally get to see an updated pic of Gryn now she looks more like me. Main changes: She no longer has her old facial markings but now has red leopard face markings, she has my bangs, septum ring, nails are now more like werwolf claws instead of black, she's plus sized lol though you can't tell so much in this pic and she has white spots on the back of her ears. Yeah I think that's all that's different. Oh and the pits were drawn from memory and no refs so may look a bit disproportionate, and I chose to depict both a natural eared pit and one with cropped ears as I feel that they both have a place in this world despite what others feel. There's alot of things I don't like about this pic but I like it for what it is, it was fun it was different and though I truely hope we won't live in a Pit-less future I did very much enjoy working on this and I hope others enjoys it too.
P.S. If you can't read my crappy hand writing in the green paws it says: "Punish the deed Not the breed" a common APBT advocate saying.

I miss my boy. I couldn't bring his big fat cuddly butt with me when I moved because of BSL and the insurance liabilities. When we move and get our house though i'm definitely adopting another. At least I know he's in a good home back in place where his kind isn't frowned upon. <3
You're right. Honestly, EVERY story I hear about pit bull attacks started with either the owner abusing them or teaching them to attack people, eve children, or children themselves coming from familys that don't teach them respect, and therefore common sense, when it comes to animals, especially ones with the potential to be vicious, which is DOGS IN GENERAL. The kids in EVERY story start by provoking the living shit out a dog, it doesn't matter how the dog was raised if you beat it with a fucking stick for an hour and a half, a fucking POODLE would snap, but of course, if it was a poodle it was tormented, if it was a doberman you were being stupid, if it was a german shepard, it was probably a gaurd dog, just doing it's job, right? But if it was a pitbull it was just a pitbull and they are 'like that.' People are ignorant. You treat a damn cat like that and it will tear you up, it doesn't matter What it is, it's how the owner treats it, and the stranger, it's a combination of things, and yes, maybe they can be 'randomly agressive' but maybe the parents of the dog were mistreated and taught them that people are bad. It's peoples fault no matter how anyone looks at it, EVEN IF there was proof that the breed just is bad and mean, and there is no way around it IT'S BECAUSE PEOPLE BRED IT TO BE MEAN, there is a reason collies or labradores don't have the reputation, if it really is a true stereotype it's still our fault.

Thank you, I agree with what you said, people need to realize that their are no bad breeds and to learn about the breed you want before you get it. And all breeds have the potential to kill/attack I even heard of a case where a pomeranian killed someone.... seriously! Labrador attacks are as numerous pit bull attacks (due to the fact that both are highly popular dogs which means more dogs leads to more irresponsable people will have them) Labs being retrievers like to use their mouths alot which if not corrected at a young age can result in biting, though lab attacks are almost unheard of in the news because people find them more cute er whatever than pits.

All this resulted the friendly loyal people-loving pits we have today. Another aggression myth is pit bulls shouldn't be around children or are aggressive towards them. Swing and a miss, Pit bulls are particularly protective of children. At the turn of the century a popular nickname for pits was "The Nanny Dog" cuz of it's love of, protectiveness of and patience with children.

Yeah, I love my two babies to death but they make travel difficult and moving a near-impossibility. (I also have two Conures, two cats, and a Siberian Husky so apartments aren't such a good idea for me) You run into alot of breed discrimination down here, the local shelters won't even test the disposition of pitbulls and chows that are turned in, they get put right to sleep. And Garland's has more pitbulls than any other city I've stayed in. Most of them seem well-enough cared for but the sheer number means a good 12, 15 pits get put to sleep weekly at our shelter. :| And a lot of insurance companies here won't cover you if you have a "Dangerous dog". Which is silly-- My dad's German Shepherds are a lot more protective and prone to human-directed aggression than either of my dogs. (Though Ruby is a little dog-aggressive with full-grown female dogs.)
I have a few friends who've found apartment complexes that allowed them to keep pitbulls, keep looking. :) They're totally worth it.

A good likeness and better message. That appeasing, nonthreatening, adoring sort of expression is the only one I've ever seen on a pitty's face.

I laughed long and hard at how completely, bafflingly stupid it was to see Great Danes, of all fucking things, listed as a prohibited breed at my new apartment complex because they're "aggressive." Clearly, I told the manager, someone's never met or seen a Great Dane in the entirety of their life.
Meanwhile people are constantly in danger of being mauled by smaller dogs that are bred and mistreated into vicious, neurotic terrors.
"Oh it's a toy breed, that means I don't need to train her!"
"Oh sure he bites everyone all the time, even me...but he can't hurt anything, his mouth is so little!"
Some people just shouldn't be allowed the privilege of living with other species. It's sickening to know that THEIR faults, THEIR crimes, are getting shunted off onto their victims.

Pitbulls were originally bred to be fighters, it dates back thousands of years to the breeds creation. It's in their instincts.
Not saying they're dangerous because every pit I've met is a sweetheart, it's just that it's in their blood to act the way they do to get the law against them.

Right but it's not in their instincts to attack people, fighting dogs that bite humans were not desired and therefore not bred into the breed line as they needed to handle the dogs often that's why pits are as friendly and highly tolerant of kids as they are. If they are aggressive it's almost always going to be against another dog but even then you "can" correct that at an early age if stupid people would actually take the time and train and socialize their dogs at an early age and that goes for all breeds not just pits. As far as the law goes if they ban one breed they might as well ban them all because every dog is capable of harming someone there's even been case in which toy breeds have killed people. My problem with the law is that they don't get they're facts straight, they believe media hype and false facts instead of scientific research. I could go on and on cuz I do research this unlike they do.

Over here it's the Staffordshire Bull Terrier that gets the same flack as the Pit Bull, I used to get verbally attacked by mothers for daring to own such a dangerous breed despite her being the friendliest and dumbest dog around.
But of course, it's because of the owners (who unfortunatly are in the majority in this scummy place) who mis-treat and mis-train their Staffies to be the snarling, fighting dogs that their breed and similair where bred for.

Pitbulls are Super dogs, I have one myself that is so wel mannered I honesltuy have never seen one this nice before, I mean they are nice dogs anyways but this fellow is one of the most Loving ones I ever have ran across, he even gets along with other dogs too

Although I have a better idea....hug them while you fight for their freedom!!! Many areas that suffer from BSL have groups that organize protests and events to raise awareness and fight to have it removed. If you don't, start one! Silence and inaction are the best ways to support your government! Don't forget to educate!
