I'm horrible at recognizing jokes, but since I'm leaning on you asking a legitimate question, I'll answer...
Right-wingers and Corporate Democrats (sell outs) who still deny climate change will call anybody who doesn't a liberal (a term which they have successfully managed to make an insult, it’s kind of like saying "oh you silly liberal, so cute, you think you know how the world really works" But all condensing and all knowingly) The sign instead says that recognizing climate change is not about political ideologies and is instead a hard cold scientifically proven fact that anybody who could read (the-fore anybody literate) can confirm for themselves. Also, it’s got a nice alteration and reflection to it, so it really sticks in your mind.

I doubt that a quarter of the people there could pass a high school science class much less know anything at all about climate change. If you were to tell them that Earth's climate has changed from both being much hotter and much colder than now they wouldn't believe you. They don't realize that we're in the longest period of climate stability that has existed for 100,000 years.
Humans don't cause climate change, we merely accelerated it slightly and in a nearly immeasurable way. There's not much that we can do about it unless you can plug every volcano, stop animals from farting, or stop rocks from emitting gasses. Rocks emit more greenhouse gasses than all of humanity. Same for animal farts and volcanoes.
We need a March for animal butt plugs. Stop animals from farting by plugging the source!

That the best you can do? Oh Texas right? Can't form an intelligent counter-argument so attack the person based off of their geographic location? Figures....
Never mind pay attention to hundreds of geologists and climatologists that have the best education on Earth and know exactly what they are talking about when they say that the Earth has seen this before, it's happened many times, it'll happen again. All humans have done is accelerate the process slightly. The world's not ending.
That said I do agree that something needs to be done to reduce the pollution that is spouted out into the environment. It'd be nice to see a multi-national effort at cleaning some of the garbage that collects in the ocean. It'd be costly but ships could be outfitted with shallow nets to scoop up the trash.

Climatologists (the reputable ones at least) will also tell you that the rate at which it is happening how is staggering compared to the natural process of climate fluctuation. It shouldn't be so conspicuously observable within the space of a few decades. If you're at all curious to know.
But seeing as how you're not a scientist despite your attempt to discredit the work of the overwhelming majority of the world's scientists, I'll just stick with my original assessment of you ultimately just being some guy in Texas. But you're welcome to keep talking for the amusement of myself and my educated followers.

But you're welcome to keep talking for the amusement of myself and my educated followers.
And you're just some guy in Minnesota. What does geography have to do with anything? My original point, and what you're failing to see is that most of those people in that crowd don't have a clue beyond what they heard from the talking heads on the news, not from listening directly from the source. I'll also say that most if not all of those people don't really give a rat's ass about the climate, they just want to be seen "Fighting the fight".
Some guy in Minnesota who tends to defer to scientific facts as explained by experts. Actual experts, not Breitbart experts, or whatever your chosen source is. Perhaps I'm not giving you enough credit but since you're trying to fly directly in the face of scientific evidence I don't really owe it to you to validate or even care about what amounts to nothing more than an opinion. But you can think what you want, that really is the beauty of reality, it doesn't care what you think because it just keeps on happening the way it's going to.
Many of those sources that the media got their information from were looking at how human's have effected the environment, not the overall how does environment effect the environment. If you look for something hard enough you will find it. I never said that we're not changing the climate. What I'm saying is that it's not something that hasn't happened before and to a greater extent. What people are triggering on is something taken out of context. Yes the glaciers are melting. There has been a time when there were no glaciers. We've merely sped up the process. We won't really be effected by it for HUNDREDS of years.
I've also never said that it's foolish not to try something. Protesting isn't going to solve anything. If they really wanted to help, they'd take one day a month and pick up trash to recycle. If everyone did that, human caused pollution would drop significantly.

Once again, I think you need another person to tell you this. You're wrong. If you did any real research or asked any real scientist you'd know this isn't true. This isn't some quick climate cycle change like what hapened milenia ago. This has already escalated far beyond the slow build in climate change that happened over thousands of years. At the actual rate of our climate's advancement in just 20 years has been insanely faster than what it was back then and it shows no signs of stopping unless we stopped this amount of pollution in the next few decades. Otherwise it'll be irreversible. But as I can see your philosophy is "Nah, don't worry. It won't affect the future. I know cause Fox News said so. Scientists are all lying and part of a conspiracy to stop innocent businessmen."
But of course, I know you won't listen to me anyways. I just felt like I should give you one last chance to redeem yourself.

*climate scientist whos funding is entirely based on there being drastic human caused climate change* "this data seems to show a slight alteration!" *gov agency funding them* "what does that mean?!" *scientist who knows damn well it means the planet is cycling through the ice age we never left yet* "uhhh.....I NEED MORE TIME AND FUNDING BUT I THINK IT MEANS WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE FROM WHAT HUMANS CAUSED SO GIVE US MONEY!"
follow the paper trail on those who believe in climate change? vs those who dont? and interesting patterns emerge
follow the paper trail on those who believe in climate change? vs those who dont? and interesting patterns emerge
I was originally gonna be nice and shit like that but then I remembered I'm talking to a fucking idiot, so who cares. When people think the world is flat there's absolutely no reason to speak to them as if they aren't fucking stupid.
"follow the paper trail on those who believe in climate change? vs those who dont? and interesting patterns emerge"
You mean like all of the real scientists saying it's real and all of the one's who work for corporations saying it's fake? Cause that's what it shows.
Also, you can actually just look at the evidence yourself. But that would be too tiring for your
"whos funding is entirely based on there being drastic human caused climate change"
Do you even know how scientists work? No one is funded for something being true only on way. Scientists are payed to discover things, regardless of what they want to be true. Also, Trump being the piece of shit he is, is actually pulling away funding from Nasa's environment observation areas.
"scientist who knows damn well it means the planet is cycling through the ice age we never left yet"
Well, actually if you bothered to look you'd realize that the overall temperature has increased over the world at a quicker rate than it has ever throughout Earth's history. Nowhere does it look natural. And yes, we are still in an Ice Age (due to the fact that there are ice caps that still exist, at the moment). That's what an Ice Age is defined as, having any kind of large land mass of ice on the planet. It's of course, grows with each winter but shrinks even further in the summer, allowing it's cool air to travel south.
But honestly, I think I know what this whole Anti-Science Movement is about. People hate that they're stupid. They want to be smart. But they feel that rather then learning real knowledge, which takes effort, they can just join conspiracy theory cults and feel important.
I mean, I explain this in the simplest of ways for you because I know you're a fucking dumbass. In truth, you don't deserve my time. I should probably just let you die when you end up licking a light socket. Or how about you build that space ship to prove to yourself that the world is flat? That would be a quite hilarious death for you.

looks like im now on Skidy's block list :/
but aggression and insults doesnt make a last word any more than blocking your opponent in a debate.
if these climate change scientists actually believed in their rhetoric it wouldnt be the US they would go after. nor europe, nor any first world nation. if fixint the earth was the real goal, we all know the actual primary targets would actually be india, africa, and china. but hoooo boy you cant go after "blooming economies od disenfranchised peoples" now can you?
and the same "scientists" shouting that hte world is increasing in temp at an increasing rate? yeah a few decades ago they were "definitely sure" that "the science was settled" that we were going to enter a new ice age from global cooling. while we are still in an ice age.
you know why we are still in an ice age? because the polar regions still have ice. as long as the planet has ice caps we are in an ice age.
learn some manners then get back to me skidy

From what I understand, that'd probably inadvertently catch a lot of fish, too. But yes, the garbage is a thing. Wildlife depletion in general is a thing.
On one hand, rallies like this one can't be pointed to as a sign of anything being true. Truth isn't up to a vote, no matter what you do. But are you saying that human-induced climate change isn't a problem? There are a lot of points being made by the march today, mainly regarding how science seems to be under attack by the government but one of the main points is that science says climate change is a problem.
That's my two cents on the issue.

There would be some fish caught as many hid within the trash. Nets kept just deep enough to snare the trash would limit the numbers of those fish caught. I wish I could find the study, but there is a group that is trying to utilize commercial trawlers such as shrimp boats with heavily modified nets to clean some of the garbage out. Their testing different types of netting to limit the number of animals caught. If I recall they're finding that stiffer nets with larger holes are doing better as far as letting fish slip out. They drag a net between a couple of boats. One side has weights the other floats. They're trying to keep it just a couple feet in the water.
Climate change is a problem. But not something solved by protesting. This is something that's going to take cultural change.

I agree about the cultural change. I remember reading not long ago that protests today don't mean what they did fifty years ago. The massive Civil Rights protests of the 60s were the product of months of planning and organization, and represented coordinated efforts by the public to induce political change. In today's world, any protest can be sparked in days' time (or even less than that, as seen after the first attempt at the travel ban) thanks to the internet and social media making communication so much faster. So instead of being the culmination of a movement, a protest now possibly represents the start of one.
That was a concern that came up with the Women's March, as well. It was a fantastically huge event, but unless it's followed up with sustained efforts for the years to come, it'll be a flash in a pan. In both that case and the case of today's march, time will tell whether the participants stick to their guns or not.

But the thing is, is that I'm not denying that climate change has happened before, but only saying that it is occurring again could have potentially incredible negative effects on the world, which I care about since I once of the dumb fucks who live on it. The-fore I feel our government should try its best to negate the negative effects of it, regardless of it creation.
That said, there is no recorded instance of climate change occurring so rapidly (to my knowledge) and it is oddly suspicious how it co-insides with human urban development, and since science has given me an explanation that makes reasonable sense to me (not that I'm claiming to understand the chemical reaction in its entirety as I'm no chemist) I do feel humans have aided in speeding the process as it seems to be the general scientific consensus.

Whelp! I can't contribute to this conversation anymore, at risk of sounding like a moron, however I'm fine with mimicking a scratched disk and to again say that our governments should at least recognize the potential danger of global warming and ensure the populace that it can best negate any and most negative affect that it may cause. And I feel that regulations should be put in place as to slow the process as much as possible, so that affects are felt much slower, and the fore better counteracted. But yes you are right, global warming is not only caused by humans, but yes it is unfortunately speed up, the unfortunate by-product of a modern world, though I suppose the thought it was necessary to our societal progress is comforting in a way.
It’s not that I'm putting myself down, it’s that I don't know enough on the subject to talk about it at any great length before I begin talking out my own ass. That said I may have overestimated everyone else so I in fact will not stop quite yet, I mean simply that we should consider the overwhelming census of the scientific community to mean that there seems to be in fact a decent amount of reasonable concern of climate change, and in fact quite a large amount of reasonable action that should be taken as the minimize its effect, and I don’t feel it reasonable to argue against this consensus while knowing less of the subject then those who dedicate their careers to studies that have overwhelmingly confirmed its existence and have suggest action be taken to minimize its affects. I think it rather laughable to attempt to claim that EVERY scientist has some terrible conspiracy to convince the public of something, that I can’t imagine actually benefits them. The coordination of such a thing in its self makes this claim to me rather laughable. So yes I am informed, and feel it necessary to ensure our government acknowledges something that is indeed a fact and help protect its citizens from its effects (which could vary, but still potentially have effects making it much more a threat to use then any number of devastating war), it after all seems only reasonable to me that the government protects its citizens, is that not after all its purpose?
*Snerk!*
That just gave me the idea of put tin' a buttplug in the back of a cow in the back of a pickup truck and using the methane to run the engine!
O wait we can use a buttplugged pig in the back of a prius (To differentiate between the driver) to run the more fuel efficient car!

Agreed.
We need to stop the idiots from geoengineering.
