just be glad that the US and the UK decided to stay and keep most of the country free and allowed it to return to prosperity. if stalin would of had his way germany would have become an uninhabitable wasteland. my ancestry is Bavarian (immigrated to US about 1860s) and my family is still proud of its german heritage as is the majority of the german descended people in my county. WW1 wasn't really shameful, it was a powder keg waiting to go off. and while WW2 was a black smudge in germanys history the actions and resolve the people had to rebuild and move on were very admirable.
i don't think the writing "Rangers Lead the Way" would be on there in that point in time. the motto came from a radio transmission during the D-Day invasion of normandy, i kinda doubt they adopted that motto that quickly. the donald duck i can completely understand coming from WW2.
