Waiting, longing for that special someone to share a life with, the day that a red string of fate would lead her to that most precious of all the things that this life has to offer, she could feel her time growing shorter and shorter. Amber summer days gave way to bitter and violet winter nights. Years elongated into decades, all blurring together in an amorphous temporal sludge of salty tears and pieces of shattered soul. Still no heroes appeared to conquer the unseen barbs piercing her ribcage. Forlorn, she passed away of a broken heart . . .
