The days leading up to her son’s birth were almost a blur to her. She remembered being in immense pain, and she could remember being afraid. Not for herself, but for her unborn pup. Her father would not allow her to seek the medical attention she needed, she was running a fever and her body had been fighting desperately to stay alive, fighting off various infections and stress.

When she was free’d she had been rushed to the hospital and was met by her lover. He seemed worried, tired, ridden with grief. Why would he be sad? Their child was to be born, why would he appear so worried?

When her son came into the world, it was almost like a cloud had been lifted from the skies. When they brought the small hybrid panda pup to his parents he was a tiny ball of fluff, gently wrapped in a blanket. He was everything that was right in the world.

Akira glanced up, her blue eyes taking in the massive form of her lover who stood over her. He reached out with those large hands, to scoop the small pup into his arms.

She had never been so in love with him then the moment she watched the massive soldier, the monster of Syntech holding their newborn pup.

And everything felt right in the world.
