I normally play around non-anthro, but for fun I thought I'd take a little break from work stuff this evening and do a very quick and temporary refsheet. This needs a lot of tidying up and a bit of refining but it'll do for now.
General because though it's a nude figure, I feel it's nondescript enough.

So I get what the main neural jack is for (brain-computer interface: "I can fly starships with my mind!"), but what do the support jacks do? I'm sure, to within p < 0.001 that bottlenose dolphin's don't need power cords so I'm kinda stumped.
Also it's nice to see another ceta with claws, We cetaceans are predators (though mostly of fish and squid) but the point still stands!

Support jacks are for secondary and tertiary systems as well as bandwidth for data transfer. In the event of a catastrophic failure the support jacks can be utilised in place of the main device, but as a temporary measure.
I figured that if dolphins were to sprout legs they'd have rudimentary talons at least, the phalanges in the fins seem to suggest as much!

Hmm, sounds useful. And probably quite important to flying a starship, since it gives redundancy. (Though you could also get redundancy if you hired a second dolphin as copilot/secondary helmsman; but that costs more money, and everyone knows companies don't want to spend money. :P )
Good enough reasoning for me! I justify my cetas having claws as good for hunting prey. Plus, for orca, beluga, and sperm whale claws also help deal with any ice that gets in the way of breathing (when out in the Arctic or Antarctic).
