Unicorns are known for their roles as the guardians of the forest and their expertise in life magic, but Xander isn't experienced in either. Instead, he studied battle magic, a form of magic created by humans for use in combat. He strengthened his body and used this magic in order to amplify his brute strength in order to join the Royal Police, to follow his dream of bringing law to all corners of his country.

He later found out that it wasn't going to be that easy. The cartels that run the outskirts are more powerful than one would think, owning many officers by way of bribes or blackmail. In order to combat the crime running rampant outside of the city, he became a vigilante, later branded the Red Knight by the Royal Police giving reference to the color of his magic.

He's wanted equally by the cartels and dirty cops, and the only thing keeping Xander from an abrupt end are his smarts.
