Say hello to my Tauren Shaman, Koramm Stonehoof.
Koramm's been around for about a bit over half a year now. A while back, a friend of mine joined a guild on Moon Guard known as The Sunguard. Pretty heavy, mostly Blood Elf, rp guild. I had been feeling a bit listless in WoW, not having an active guild anymore, so I transferred my Draenei main off of Rexxar, where I started years ago, to Moon Guard, in hopes of having a more active server (Rexxar was dying a slow, painful death, even after being merged with Misha). A more active server I got, but I guild I was having trouble getting. Sure, I got accepted into a Draenei rp guild, but they were... pretty inactive.
So, a few months prior to Legion, I began levelling a tauren who I called Koramm. I'm a slow leveller, not really a fan of dungeons, so by the time the pre-patch for Legion hit, I was still pretty low in level on him. I started levelling him quickly via the invasions (and even kicked out the final 10-20 levels alongside another friend of mine in a party during the final hours of the pre-patch).
But I got him done, and applied to the Sunguard with him, because while they may be mostly Blood Elves, all Horde races are invited to join. And then I went back to my main and waited for a reply. I thought it would come by email.
No, it came by in-game mail. And I hadn't logged on to Koramm in a while, so I missed the date to contact them back by. I shot a message to my friend in the guild, who told me who to shoot an in-game message to. I got in contact, explained the situation, and everything was smoothed out. Koramm applied in character and was welcomed into The Sunguard's healing division, known as the Dawnmenders.
And there he has been ever since. He still feels a bit out of place amongst all the elves, as there are very few Tauren amongst their ranks, but he does his best to be loyal to the leaders of the Sunguard, and do his duty as a soldier.
Now, as for that image title? Well, it started out as a joke. When Koramm's token was made for the roll20 events the Sunguard gas, he was in a transmog for a Christmas event, with his mace transmogged as a mug from Brewfest. So he was wielding a mug in his token. People joked that he was hitting spiders in the face with his mug, so I ran with it.
Koramm uses a magically reinforced mug as his weapon. For him, alongside his totems, it helps him connect with the elements, for the mug itself is made from wood, steal, and stone, and parts of it forged in fire. Depending on if it is empty or full, it is 'filled' with liquid or air, and thus, the mug itself stands for all four of the elements. And Koramm's connection to the elements is... well, let's go with complicated.
But as for the smug part, Koramm really is anything but smug. He's generally pretty humble. However, people joked as this was being drawn that he looked kinda smug, and said "look at that smug mug", so now it is the smug mug of the mug wielder.
Anyways, this art was drawn by the always amazing Brothers Emberfell on tumblr, a friend of mine, as part of a charity drive a few days ago to raise money to help keep our guild site funded. I have nothing but absolute love for this pic, and I'm so happy to finally have a pic of my tauren to show off.
Side note: that's not fluff on his neck! That's actually his helm item from said Christmas transmog, the Shadow Archer's Helm, which drops from Kor'talos Ravencrest in Black Rook Hold. So, no, he's not ACTUALLY that fluffy.
Secondary side note: Koramm actually has his own in-character tumblr, where I post the stories I write about him. Feel free to visit it HERE
