As you may have read in my journal yesterday, I had to put my cat Amano to sleep. He hadn't hit 11 years old yet, but kidney disease hit him. :'(
I wanted to draw a cartoonish character of him. Cute, yet still in a way he normally would lay. Making sure I made his paws just slightly bigger, his neck smaller and his belly rounder. I noticed little eyes and farther apart with moving the mouth up a tad actually give a cuter expression.
So, list of mats used here...
Bristol Board
Watercolor pencils for the background wash
Prismacolor markers for the body
Prismacolor pencils for the eyes and collar
Metallic gold prismacolor marker for the dog tag (he really had this tag and collar)
Pitt and Micron for outlines
Zinc White Gouache for eye highlights and white spots on the belly and chest
