Wellllll then... Gave me quite a long night, even though most of it was already finished. Buuuut I don't really know how well it turned out in the end... I don't know, the auction got
really high, was definitely the most that people have ever been bidding for one of my pictures, and having such a thought in your head all the time pressures you a bit while drawing.
It's like... "Hm... No, make this part just a tiny bit better.. pay real close attention to everything, put some more time in this and that..." and it doesn't really work that way, cause the high price
doesn't suddenly make you a better artist or something like that, so you kinda end up feeling like you couldn't meet your own expectations, and like people paid you more than the pic is actually worth..
Just a lot of stuff going on in your head in this case, but if I treat it just like a normal pic with no money behind it, it looks normal, very S2-Freak-ish, what people are used to from me
and not much more. Sooo, yeah, after all that, I can pretty much just hope you like it x3 Of course there's stuff I like as well. Love how the trees turned out, nice and sparkly,
the grass as well, Hugo's face looks pretty cool I think, almost more like a tiger than a normal cat, but that fits his colors and the stripes very well, Buibui looks cute and floofy, etc.~
Aaanyway, hoping I can do monthly YCHs from now on, maybe some moufs for next time x3

I've been looking at it again and again in the last couple days hoping I'd like it more now, buuut it's not 100% where I wanna go with my art style. I mean it looks cute and the style is consistent and all, but I wanna evolve a little more beyond the cartoon-ish look :3

I want to assume that the reason the prices went so high is that there isn't a lot of macro art with ferals like this. It's a surprisingly uncommon thing nowadays, so when any opening is available, everyone will fight metaphorical tooth and nail for a slot like that. Doubly so since it's your art, which is always enticing in that regard. And putting in that extra effort is always a welcoming sight. Don't kick yourself for working hard or thinking people will expect so much more from you because of the prices. Making sure the art is satisfactory to the customers is good, because it already shows that you want to make everything perfect, but it isn't a requirement unless one asks. And I dare say we're both satisfied with the result: it's a combination of the traditional S2-style but with more attention to detail, and at the end of the day that leaves everybody happy. :3 (Plus you get a nice paycheck, which leaves you happy, as well, but I digress. >w>)
Regardless, and as I said before, there's a nice attention to detail. Good amounts of shading and coloring, combined with really nice settings before both outside and inside the house.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to keep quiet. If I keep quiet, it won't hear me...that's how it works, right...?

thanks n.n I'm glad you liked the result. It's just... I don't know, it may look nice and all, but it's not going in the direction where I want my art to go in the future. Mostly talking about the background and its color palette here, which looks cute and cartoony to a point, but I'd love to go for a bit more realism in the future, maybe combining realistic backgrounds and anime-like cell-shaded characters, but that stuff ish hard to learn xd
