This is the description of another character that I am using for the furry supers rp at yahoo. The character in question is Sekhmet, the Ancient Egyptian War Goddess, who was a super during the Second World War, and is presently involved in the present storyline at the group.

Yeah. I had to organize all of the information that I had found on her to look very presentable. There was, in fact, another story on her which I'd found that I'd wanted to use, but could not find when I went back for it when I was finally able to think up something for the opening paragraph. Never could find it.
Okay. Although this gives me ideas for some of my heroes. Since very few people are familiar with Shinto, I could do the Japanese sun goddess. Although I could do the thunder god of Shinto too...
Hm...well it depends I guess. I do know I have to be careful as I don't want to be sued by marvel and dc. It'll be tough what with marvel and dc owning the word superhero.

I wouldn't worry too much on that. After all, they are mythological characters. Just as long as they do not look anything like their version of the character(s), you should be fine. I say this as DC have their own version of Thor, even though he was a mortal criminal, who had appeared only twice, once in the 1940s and the second time in the 1980s in their All-Star Squadron comic.
Yep. She decides to help the Allies out as her enemy the dreaded Egyptian snake god Apep is aiding the Thule Society and the Third Reich.
I think your brother should reuse her, but that's just me.
Anubis appears as a hero as well, but he's an Iron Age hero, so that means...well, we all know how Iron Age heroes operate.
He falls in love with Cyberneticia, a female cyborg vigilante. So we have a magical jackal headed god of death falling for a cyborg human with a huge chip on her shoulder.

Bastet and the feathered serpent fell in love but sadly a Thule society mage destroyed the feathered spirits human host which damaged his spirit and then he banished Bastet to the Nexus zone.
Also other mythological villains in the golden age are ares, Seth, the Red knight, Tiamat, and some ONI.

Indeed. I remember there is a comic book an online one actually that has apep and Bastet in it. http://www.heroicmultiverse.com/fla.....dex.php?pn=167
And yeah. It is hard not to have Seth as a golden age villain

Hhhmmm, that is a real tricky one, since you would have to read the myth's rather carefully. The only ones that I know of for sure are several avatars of the Hindu god, Shiva, especially Khrisna, the Meso-American serpent god, and Promethus, the one who gave mortals fire, before being made into a living dinner dish for the rest of his immortal life (his liver being eaten and then coming back new) for birds ever since then by Zeus.
Well from what I've been able to find out the Shinto gods and good kami are concerned about humanity. But yeah those you've mentioned I read were deeply concerned about humanity. Except for the Hindu one. Of course, it is strange that comics seem to focus on Norse and Greek myths. Egyptian mythology while well known is often used much in comics. Although manga and anime makes use of Shinto and Buddhism. Indian comics do use Hindu gods.
Hm...yeah this is a tough one. XP
But thank you for your help! I appreciate it!

I have no idea why that is, except that most of the folks in the business are either more familiar with Greco-Roman myths, or whose ancestors came from either Germany or the countries of Northern Europe. And, it might be that they don't know much about Egyptian mythologies, outside of mummies. I guess it's what they know.
Me, as I'd mentioned earlier, I took comparative mythology in college, and that featured Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Hindu, Norse, and the Americas.
You're welcome.

I know. But some of the reason for the confusion were the Egyptian's themselves. Each area of the country, becomes a major area, the like to connect their local deities with one of the major national deities. I mean, Ptah was suppose to be a major god of Memphis, as was Sekhmet, and the two were suppose to be husband and wife, but Bast was suppose to be a mjor goddess of Lower Egypt, and she was also said to be Ptah's wife. Me, I ignore that since it wouldn't really make sense, unless I want to have Ptah the husband of both goddesses, and having the two sisters pissed at each other (As I don't really see Sekhmet as being the sharing type).
I don't think sekhmet is the sharing type. I do like the outfit you gave her. I'm hoping to get Bastets outfit designed btw. Also it makes sense to have ancient Egyptian deities in the golden age of comics what with the Thule society and the third reichs interest in the occult, not to mention the nazis controlling much of Northern Africa.
Also ares would make a good ally of the the reich as he would be wanting to regain the power he lost when Christianity took over the Roman Empire.

Thanks on the outfit. I think it would make since to be having her wearing something like that, since it is based on the armor worn by the leader of Egypt during its New Kingdom period, when chariots were the armo of its day.
On the Nazis, it would probably be those of Egypt's enemies in Libya, since the Italians were allowing them to have their troops there. Sadly, I do not know what deities the Libyans had worshipped back then. (After all, Vichy France had control of North Africa, and parts of their Western African colonies, while the Free French took control of the colonies in Central Africa in 1940 (I'd just found that out, and took over Syria and Lebanon (with the Brits) in 1941.)
As for Ares, it would make sense, and also be while Athena would be supporting that period's Athena (I'm presently working on Athena's file, and I guess I should mention that when I get to the fourth Athena).

Neat. Now, since sekhmet is a golden age hero does she say cheesy quotes that golden age characters were known for? Also, I'm having trouble figuring out when the Iron Age of comics ended. Pretty much the golden age ended between the end of WWII and the start of the Korean War. The silver ages end and the Bronze Age starting and ending also are giving me trouble.
The Golden Age of comics goes from 1938-1951, when All-Star Comics dropped its Justice Society feature. The Silver is normally seen as going from about 1956, when Barry Allen appeared as the Flash to the early 1970s, when Gwen Stacy's neck broke when Spidey tried to save her. Bronze would start from there, and I think it would ended around 1986, when DC celebrated its 50th anniversary with the Crisis on Infinite Earth maxi-series. As for the Bronze Age. If it ended, I myself would think it would've some point in the 00s, but by then, I'd stopped buying comics. I could no longer afford buying them, and the 90s style just was not for me.
As for Sekhmet, nah, I doubt she would be speaking Golden Age quotes. If anything, she could sometime act like the Spectre during the same time period, although that period Britannia would be able to rein her in.
On the kitsune, I need to make a clarification, her father is American of Italian-descent, since he was a American soldier who had lived in Japan when we still had troops based there.

Ah okay. And thank you for your help! I appreciate that! I've been reading a lot ofjapanese mythology and it is very interesting.
I can also see Sekhmet as being an Iron Age hero...well in my universe that is. ;P
Bastet in my universe is a member of the first Hero Legion along with the feathered serpent, Britains Mr. Big Ben, Canada's Dr. Gadgeteer and his faithful flying dog Sky Hound, Americas Lt. Colonel Solar, Russia's Comrade Silver Star, France's Scarlet Vixen, Poland's Pointsman, and China's Jade Maiden. Together they fight against the Nazi super soldier Malice and his Reich Phalanx!
