Today I wanted to draw a sketch of the two wolves of the Zootopia Police Department.
In my headcanon:
· Grizzoli is slightly taller than Wolford, as long as is an Artic Wolf, and is the biggest wolf species. He's also perceived as a really handsome guy, and Wolford is sometimes a bit jealous... but happy of having a so attractive boyfriend.
· Grizzoli is kind, very good hearted and even a bit naive for to be a policeman. Wolford is quite serious and more sarcastic.
· Wolford is a couple of years older (29), and more experienced as a policeman. Grizzoli is 27.
· Grizzoli's surname is due to his adoptive dad. His mother was a single mother and married a grizzly bear when Grizzoli was only a few months old. Grizzoli really LOVES his dad.
And well, that's all. It's a quite simple sketch, but I hope you like it.
And PLEASE, no messages talking about if the name of the white wolf is this or that. In the movie is called Grizzoli. For me, that's enough.

I like them too. Even when they appear so little time in the movie, they're really charismatic.
Another headcanon:
· Gary and Grizzoli are cousins. Due to their implication in the Night Howler case, and their arrest, Wolford didn't trust in Gary and his boyfriend Larry during a time. Grizzoli insisted in giving them a second chance, and, after a time, he got that Wolford accepts his cousin and Larry again.

*nods* I have a lot of interlocking theories, but the short answer is that I interpret wolves as being (for lack of a better word) on the line between acceptance and stigmatization / criminality, and that Grizzoli was adopted by a grizzly bear family who, though not ostracized anymore (or at least not anymore than the average predator), were still aware that they once were and opted to pay it forward (so to speak) to a member of the species that still was.
One thing I'm hoping to see in the sequel is that Zootopia's fox youths were inspired by Nick Wilde, some of which even managed to follow in his paw prints. Followed by a scene where Nick asks one of the other ZPD foxes how Zootopia's been treating him, and he gets the reply "Fine. Until they find out my name isn't Officer Wilde. Then it's junior high all over again." And after Nick expresses disappointment, maybe getting a followup: "Why do you think we all wear the T-shirts instead of the uniform?"
That's my interpretation on why all of the wolves don't wear the uniform: That, some time prior to Judy joining the ZPD, one or two of the ZPD's wolves achieved a major victory for the ZPD and won adoration for his/their accomplishments, but the other wolves kept getting treated like crap until they all stopped wearing their name tags.
And yes, I do believe those one or two wolves were Grizzoli and/or Wolford. Probably in separate instances though, seeing as Bogo demonstrates a clear preference for maintaining teams (Grizzoli/Fangmeyer/Delgato, Snarlov/Higgins, Hopps/Wilde) and never pairs the two of them together. But if they were a team, Wolford was definitely the brains ("undercover") and Grizzoli the muscle ("Tundratown S.W.A.T.").

No, see you're saying it wrong, the accent in Grizzoli is on the 'i' not the 'zz'.
Just kidding.
I have discussed my... your... this headcanon with other furs as part of the Great Interspecies Debate of aught six. The question being whether Grizzoli was part bear, adopted, name changed or other option. And I gotta say I support adoption and intermarriage because... well that happens in our world and Zootopia is based strongly on existing animal biology (Which means no interbreeding.) Lawsey lawsey I and a few others have even posted comment stories about this. (Waaaay too much effort for such a thing, but then I get easily carried away.)

Yeah, I agree. In Zootopia there isn't any hybrid, so it's quite obvious they can't breed between diferent species (in a so multicultural city, we'd see hybrids if they could mix theirselves), so yes, I also think is more logical the idea of Grizzoli being adopted by a bear.
Ah! And I say its surname with the accent in the "O" GrizzOli

I indeed would be sad if they retcon it so such hybrids are possible. (It's been done, so many times and it is so played out.)
See, now you're thinking of the northern Grizzolis, most people do. They accentuate the 'o' to differentiate themselves from a rival family, the Polarskis. (Or 'Pollarks' as they're sometimes called.) But Zootopian Grizzolis actually hail from Sicily, and the accentuate the first 'i'.
