A while back
CarbonKlex and I decided that we wanted to commission together cosplaying our favorite characters from the game For Honor. This was way back before the Lawbringer, yours truely's favorite knight, was buffed, so he was moreso the Memebringer back then, but winning with him was immensely satisfying. Carbon has always played the Warden, who has more or less become a sort of meme character in and of itself, but for different reasons of course. We played quite a bit together when the game first came out, and he still plays it quite a bit. Even after the LB's buff though I've not been able to rekindle the passion that I used to have for the game, thanks to Goobisoft's shitty idea of p2p connections. I do still play from time to time though with Carbon, who's by far the best person I know at this game, and occassionally
Draekos.
Thank you again
Athume for the wonderful job that you did on this. The wait was well worth it, and I'd gladly do so again for another piece from you! Good luck with your new schedule brother!

LB is the only one I've played. I get past not being versatile by watching vids on them. I do the same thing for overwatch. It's impossible to be fluent with all 24 characters in that game, so you watch vids on the others to get to know them and watch gameplay on them.
Not necessarily. It just takes practice and spending time playing each class/character...
Granted, though I pre-ordered OverWatch, I have yet to touch it. The toxicity my friends displayed playing it is enough for me to say, "Haha! Fuck you, Blizzard...TF2 clone wannabee...this isn't fun."

It won't replace playing each one no, but I play so infrequently that I'd not have the time to play the others, and they just don't interest me.
I wouldn't let their toxicity discourage you from it. That's just how any shooter can be, and it's not actually as close to TF2 as you think. They did take inspiration from it, but that's about where the similarities end.

I get more jollies out of ignoring the objectives and just happily killing...and joining servers at will, versus being put together by a program.
Also, the diverse weaponry of TF2 makes it so if one strategy isn't working, rather than changing class, a change of weapons to confuse and bewilder the enemy hits home.
At least, that's how I look at it...
For now, I don't do Eliminations or Skirmishes or Dominions on For Honor due to the high levels of spawn camping I've seen, and the try-hard 'cheese' classes that get chosen (like Warlords who -only- use headbutt on you, or Peacekeeper's doing nothing but a jump-heavy and fast zone attacks, Wardens with shoulder bash spam, Shugoki's with grabs+heavies+grabs again...etc.). I do my Orders, work up my characters, get better...and enjoy myself.
