Haha, this hat is like nothing but bad news:
It was my first real commission, in general and for sewing.
I made two - one for my friend and his girlfriend.
By the time I finish, he accidentally gets his girlfriend pregnant.
He uses the rest of the money he has to move in with his mom, and they drop out of touch.
I wouldn't know where to send these even if I wasn't paid.
Last month I made friends with a girl in school who liked pandas.
I overheard her relationship troubles in class one day.
It sounded like the same exact thing had happened to both of us.
We both had some guy we really like lie to us for a long time, because they didn't want to hurt us by saying they'd found someone else.
Eventually we both found out and got really hurt.
I never told her I could relate to that and her feelings, but I wanted to make her happy. :3
I told her about the panda hat I made and she sounded excited about it. For such a common hat, she hasn't been able to find them anywhere.
The same weekend our class was trying to finish all our final projects, I was sewing this hat to try and make it look better.
I came to class prepared to give it to her as a gift on the final day.
It wasn't until an hour after class started that she finally showed up.
She sat down next to the teacher to tell him she wasn't able to finish the project, and left in a hurry.

I'm not great at writing.
I still can't get rid of this hat.
I don't think many people will read this, but my hats aren't as fun as comics, so I don't expect it to be looked at either.
I'm too dramatic. Ever since that relationship I'm too sensitive to everything that happens. I'm aware of that now, so I can try to improve. :3

I was going to say the new version looks "cuter", but oh my, that's a sad story indeed. :c
Just, ack. I could see why she wouldn't want to be there since not finishing the final probably means failing and it'd be shameful to stick around. But, I am guessing you won't see her again? You think she'd be in another class or at least around the campus or something?
Its a hat full of experiences it seems.

Relationship problems and the stress of finals don't go so well together. She didn't want to come but her friend got her to for a short while, but it wasn't long enough. D:
I have her DeviantArt, but she hasn't been on it in months... I'll hope to see her around somewhere though.
Hopefully the hat'll wind up with the right person eventually. :3

It's not anyone's fault but for some random reason it still feels like a giant "fuck you" D:
At least, that's how that sorta stuff has happened to me, if it's the same thing. Also, if you have her DA then that's a start to hunting her down ;P
Can look at people she talked to lots on DA, possible IM contacts, hints/links to other sites which might have more info - she might be on something like facebook - what would Sherlock Hams do? xD

Oh, Oxnard. I'm so sorry to hear of how history repeated itself with this particular piece of work. A kind of similar thing happened to a friend of mine back when he was in High School where he made a heart-shaped box in his art class to give to a girl he was interested in. Sadly, though, it was never meant to be and I believe he still has that box in his apartment to this day.
That said, I must compliment you on how you never give up. The friend I mentioned above suffers greatly still from that rejection and, despite having interest in other women over the years, has never once tried to approach them to show them how special he finds them to be. I've been witness to many lost opportunities for love on his part as a result of this and have listened to him tell me over-and-over about how he despises the men who end up being with the girls that, for the longest, he simply admired from afar while being yet so close. I only wish that my friend could one day learn to be like you and never be afraid to take that chance. Sure it hurts to fall, but at least you try.
That in mind, perhaps the hat is simply awaiting the right owner? As it was one of your first pieces of commissioned work, it is a most special piece of artistry indeed. On that note, I would say the panda hat should stand more for a symbol of what good times lie ahead. After all, when the hat does find a rightful owner, I'm certain that individual will be a very special one indeed. :)

Hehe, my sister got a heart-shaped box due to some relationship thing she went through in high school too. Though it wasn't really a happy thing for her either. It's hard to get rid of things like that when you put a lot of feelings into them too.
I guess it's kinda easy to dislike someone that did the thing you wanted to but didn't have the chance to... but it's good to learn from that and maybe become more bold, or at least stay positive since things could improve. I hope your friend finds the right person, or maybe has someone find him. :3
And yup! It was kind of odd giving a hat away since it was supposed to be someone else's... but I guess it wasn't meant to be their's either, at least not yet. Eventually I'm sure it could make someone happy. (:
