Time for a story about a Yoshi that would change his home forever...
Along the Tropical Belt of the ocean, a distance from Kong Island was an island known for two things. The first was the rainbow of bountiful fruits the grew on the island’s trees like red apples, orange oranges, yellow bananas, and much more. If one arrived at the island early enough they could see the trees full of fruit, but any later and the trees would be barren by the island’s second wonder, the small, colorful dinos that inhabited the island, the Yoshis. Friendly, energetic, and most of all, hungry, the Yoshis were the residents of this little slice of paradise. These happy creatures, were clad in a sturdy pair of shoes and a riding saddle to give visitors a ride around their home. Truly remarkable dinosaurs, they were quite strongly built, able to leap and flutter long distances as if they had wings and their tongues were surprisingly long, able to grab at fruits in trees yards away, pluck them, and bring it into their maw to munch up the juicy goodness and gulp it down.
This was how the Yoshi’s lived for generations. They knew very little about the world beyond their island home even from the visitors that came by. The life they lived was simple and peaceful and just the way they liked it. They never imagined that anything would happen to disrupt their way of life, but one day all of that would change.
A boat cruised up to the docks of Yoshi Island. It was a fair-sized paddleboat that let out puffs of smoke that trailed behind it, but upon reaching the dock the paddle wheel stopped turning and the smoke stopped.
“We’ve arrived at the docks,” the bob-omb sailor said to his green Yoshi passenger. “I’ve taken many a tourist here, but this be the first time I came to drop off a native. ‘Ow long ye been away from home if ye don’t mind me a asking?”
“It’s been a little over a year,” the Yoshi answered, though he spoke in grunt and roars. “I’ve been traveling all over to see what else the world had to offer besides fruit bearing trees and found a whole lot more than I ever dreamed. I just wish I was able to bring more back with me.”
“That so?” replied the sailor trying to act like he knew what the Yoshi had said to him. “Well, best be off. I’d bet me sea legs that your kin are itching to see ya.”
“Thanks for the ride, captain,” the Yoshi waved goodbye and gathered up all his things onto his saddle and waddled out of the cabin and onto the deck. A few other bob-ombs had the plank down between the side of the boat and the pier for the Yoshi to disembark. Walking across it and onto the pier, the Yoshi had finally made it back home.
Peering through a porthole to take one last look at the Yoshi, the captain took a few chugs of some Chuckola Cola. “Twas a nice fella, but fer the life of me I couldn’t understand a lick of what he was saying ta me.”
“That captain was a swell guy,” thought the Yoshi as walked to the end of the pier and felt his shoes touch the familiar sand of his home. He looked back at the boat seeing the sailors making preparations to leave and return to the port they came from. “But the entire time I spent talking to him I could understand about every other word he said at best.”
A red Yoshi rubbed his belly as he enjoyed eating some fruit for breakfast. Eying a nice-sized melon he shot his tongue out at it, but before he could grab it, another tongue beat him to it. “Hey!” steamed the Yoshi. “That was mine!”
“Gotta be quicker than that,” the green Yoshi said a bit teasingly holding the melon in hand. “Don’t tell me you’ve gotten lazy while I was away, Michael.”
“An- An- Anthony? I-Is that really you?” the red Yoshi, Michael, said rubbing his eyes in disbelief. “I’m not hallucinating am I?”
“It’s really me,” Anthony answered before opening his maw to stuff the melon in his maw and munch it up. “Mmm! I’ve traveled all over, but no place has better fruit than the stuff we have here.”
“Then I was right,” Michael stated. “There isn’t anything better than what we’ve got here on the island.”
“Oh, no, no, no, my friend,” Anthony countered wagging his finger. “The world beyond this island has tons more than just fruit. More than any of us could have ever dreamed of. I’m going over to the center of the village to set up. You go around and call everyone over there telling them that I’m home and I’ve got tons to show them.”
“More than fruit?” pondered Michael. “What else is there?”
“You’ll see as soon as everyone else!” Anthony shouted. “Now get going!”
Waddling his way into the village, Anthony looked around and saw that besides a few young fruit trees looking a bit older and some patchwork repairs done to the huts it didn’t look like anything had changed since the day he left. “All this time away and feels like this place hasn’t changed one bit,” Anthony said to himself. “Looks like just about everyone is off getting breakfast, but Michael will have them all back here soon. I should be all set up by then.”
In the center of town, Anthony removed the bags from his back and took a moment to stretch and relax after carrying that heavy load all the way from the beach. He then unzipped the bags and began removed the contents and place them all around.”
“Do my eyes deceive me?” the Chief Yoshi of the village said rubbing his eyes after seeing Anthony. He was a green Yoshi that wore a feather on his head as a sign of his status. He was also considerably plumper-looking than all the other Yoshis despite all their diets consisting of nothing but fruit. Nobody could think of why he was fatter than all the others besides from the stress of the job. “Anthony, is that you?”
“It sure is, Chief,” Anthony told him as he kept on working to get ready before Michael got back with everyone else.
“How many moons must have passed since you left to see the world?” he pondered. “Oh, too many to count.”
“Actually, it’s been about one year, three weeks, and two days,” Anthony explained holding up a Calendar. “You might not believe it, but they actually have a way of tracking time. They even group days up into weeks and months and a year.”
“Whatever for?” pondered the Chief. “What use could one have to track time in such a manner? We wake up, eat fruit, play, eat fruit, play, eat fruit, go to bed and then do it again the next day. It seems so pointless to have to track time for something like that.”
“They do a lot more things than we do here,” Anthony tried to explain, but knew it’d be hard to do. “But I’ll go into it in more depth when everyone else gets here?”
“What about these creatures?” asked the Chief Yoshi and he flipped through the pages on the calendar and gazed upon the pictures of cute dogs featured on every month. “Are these some sort of time deities that the outsiders worship?”
“I’ll explain more about that too,” Anthony added trying to keep from laughing. “It looks like everyone is starting to gather so I’ll go over everything I’ve seen on my travels and all the stuff I have brought back with me. And you can believe me when I tell you that there are so many better things out there than just fruit.”
“Better than fruit?!?” exclaimed the Chief Yoshi. “What could possibly be better?”
With all the island’s Yoshis gathered together in the center of the village, Anthony was finally ready to showcase many of the wondrous new things he had discovered in the world beyond his home. Most of the Yoshis already appeared very curious about some of the stuff he had out on display, especially the younger Yoshis who had to be yanked back by their tails to keep them from touching anything.
“Are you all set yet?” Michael asked Anthony. “Everyone is here and this stuff looks neat, but some of us are getting bored and want to go play before it’s time to eat again.”
“Heh, and here I thought we Yoshis didn’t adhere to a schedule,” joked Anthony. “But I am ready now and this won’t take long. You want to help me with my demonstrations?”
“Uh, ok,” Michael agreed. “Just what do I have to do?”
“Just pay attention and listen to my instructions,” he explained and Anthony began to showcase the world outside their home.
He started with some of the things he figured would be the easiest for them to understand. Taking a few chocolate bars, he demonstrated opening up the wrapper and revealing the smooth, brown pieces of chocolate inside. He then took a bite of one piece and gave one to Michael to taste.
“Wow! This is delicious!” drooled Michael smiling and rubbing his cheeks. “Is it some new type of banana since it has a peel?”
“No, this is chocolate,” he explained as they passed out pieces for everyone to try. “It’s a bit more complex than fruit to make, but you can see it is very delicious. It also goes very well with nuts like peanuts and almonds that some of those pieces of chocolate have in them too. There are many different types of chocolate and they can be filled with things like nougat and caramel too, but we’ll save that for another time when I can better explain what those things are. Now, take a look at this.” Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a potato and some oil and a battery-operated fryer.
“I don’t know what the other things are, but isn’t that a potato?” asked Michael.
“Yeah, that’s right,” he recalled. “We do have tons growing on this island don’t we? Isn’t it great?”
“Great?” a Yoshi in the crowd said making a gagging noise. “Who wants to eat something that is covered in dirt? They don’t even taste nearly as good as fruit anyway.”
“And we can’t even get rid of them because of how fast everything grows on this island,” another pointed out. “Before we’d even dig half of them up new ones would start to grow again. Why even bother doing that when we can play and eat tastier things?”
“I agree that I have never been a fan of potatoes before,” Anthony admitted. “But that was before I found out how to make them delicious. After washing all the dirt off of them you take this thing called a peeler and remove the skin.” Anthony took a peeler from his things and showed this off. He gave some potatoes and a peeler to Michael to help him out and before long they had a dozen potatoes peeled and then washed. “After they are cleaned, we take some knives and cut them into pieces like this and then we place them in this machine called a fryer with this oil and let them cook.” The two Yoshis did just that and everyone watched in amazement as the oil began to bubble and sizzle as the potatoes started to get fried.
“Those do smell delicious,” admitted Michael sniffing the air. “When will they be ready?”
“In a bit, but I figured that we can show off some more stuff in the meantime, like these clothes.”
“Oh, we already know what clothes are,” chuckled Michael. “We have our saddles and shoes on. What more do we need?”
“Well, there are lots of things that can be worn like pants, shirts, and hats,” he told them and showed off all kinds of clothes he brought back with him and used Michael like a mannequin to display them for him.
“This stuff is nice,” admitted Michael wiping some sweat from his forehead. “But it’s kind of hot to have all this on. Why would anyone even need to put stuff like this on when it’s always so hot out?”
“The world is not hot everywhere,” Anthony stated matter-o-factly and wagging his finger. “In fact, I’ve seen places so cold that the rain comes down as snow and ice. My body still shivers just thinking about it. In places like this they have to layer up with heavy coats to stay warm and wear thick, heavy boots to cover their feet.”
“There’s no way a place like that can exist,” a Yoshi mocked. “How could it when the sun is right up there in the sky to keep everything hot?”
“I can assure you that it is all very real,” Anthony countered. “Everything I say is true down to the last detail and I have much more to show you, but the potatoes should be ready or should I say more accurately, the fries are done.”
Taking the fry catcher out of the oil, Anthony let the fries cool for a bit before putting them in bowls and passing them around. The Yoshis were all skeptical about this from past experiences with potatoes, but they couldn’t deny that they smelled like the most delicious thing they ever whiffed before and each taking a fry in hand and munched them down.
“So good!” they all exclaimed making the same blissful smile and rubbing their cheeks with delight before scarfing down the rest in seconds soon after.
“Heheh,” chuckled Anthony. “I knew those would go over well.”
“So we can make these tasty potato things whenever we want with that magic contraption of yours?” the Yoshis asked eagerly, already craving more.
“Of course,” he answered. “Though I hear that eating foods cooked this way too much isn’t supposed to be good for you. It’s supposed to make you fat, but a little extra pudge doesn’t sound too bad to me.”
“Then let’s get more potatoes!” cheered the Yoshis getting ready to run off, but Anthony called them back.
“Let me show you a bit more than you can use the fryer all you want. I got plenty more batteries for it and oil as well.”
The next few items didn’t draw nearly as much attention as the fries did, mostly because it didn’t involve food and the Yoshis were eager to eat more. Seeing their attention was all but gone now, Anthony decided to wrap it up with one last thing.
“And this here is a boombox,” he announced holding up a big black box with lots of buttons on it and an antenna. “This thing can receive signals to play music on it. It’s really cool.”
“But I don’t hear anything,” Michael commented.
“You just need to turn it on,” he explained and suddenly the entire village was hit with a ton of rock music that sent everyone running around in a panicked frenzy. Quickly, Anthony played with the buttons trying to lower it. “Uh, sorry about that. I’ll fix it in a second.”
“And next up on Delfino Daily, the weather,” the announcer said on the radio.
“Oh, that thing is brutal,” groaned the Yoshi Chief. “I can see where it gets its name from. The next time Bowser tries to cause trouble here we can send him running with this thing.”
“It’s not really meant for that,” Anthony said. “It is to play music, oh, and other things too like the news. Looks like we’re getting the local weather.”
“...it’s going to be a tropical freeze on Yoshi’s Island.”
“Wait what?” cried Anthony hearing that. “Everyone! Quiet and listen to this!” All the Yoshis were silent as they listened to the weather forecaster continue to talk.
“A powerful cold front is building up just south of Yoshi Island and it is headed straight for it where it is going to mix with a storm and create a snowstorm. We are expecting temperatures in the twenties and lower once it hits in a few weeks. I hope that the Yoshis inhabiting the island will be able to prepare for a downpour of ice and snow. Up next, tips and tricks for proper shell maintenance with-”
Anthony turned off the radio and looked at all the Yoshis around him. “Still don’t believe it can get cold?” he asked.
“Anthony,” Michael told him. “This is no time to be gloating about being right. This island has never been cold before. We are not prepared for the cold. We don’t even know what cold is. What do we do?”
“He is right,” the chief explained. “If what the spirit said in that box will come to pass then a great calamity will befall this island and our village. We must be able to survive this and you are the only one here who has any experience with cold weather. Tell us, what must we do.”
Anthony thought for a moment before looking at all the Yoshis and spoke. “To survive in the cold there are two things we will need, inner insulation and outer insulation.”
Days passed and preparations for the snow storm were already under way. The trees that were normally picked clean of fruit as quickly as it grew were now left untouched. Meanwhile, the ground was covered in holes as countless potatoes were dug up to be washed, peeled, chopped and made into fries.
“Here’s another batch of spuds,” a Yoshi said hauling a basket over to Michael who had been left in charge of the fryer while Anthony was working on preparations elsewhere.
“Thanks and here’s some fries I’ve already made,” he answered back and gave her a bowl full of fries.
“Mmm,” she said happily munching on them. “You’ve gotten really good at making these.”
“It’s easy to do,” admitted Michael. “It’s just a matter of taking them out before they get burnt and I only partially burnt one batch once.”
“Well, just keep making them this good,” she stated almost finished with her bowl and eager for a refill. “These are the best things ever since fruit was invented.”
“Well, Anthony said that there were all sorts of ways to make fries even better. He said we haven’t tasted delicious till we’ve had cheese fries.”
“Oh, that does sound so good,” she agreed. “Just one thing. What is cheese?”
“I have no idea,” admitted Michael.
“Are you sure we need all this cotton?” asked the tailor Yoshi as he worked on making his first ever coat. He had studied the one that Anthony had brought with him and had managed to finally figure out how to properly reconstruct it. All that remained was to add the insulation.
“We’re going to need even more than this,” insisted Anthony. “So we can make enough coats for each and every Yoshi. There is nothing worse than being stuck in the cold without a coat.”
“That does sound dreadful, I think,” stated the Yoshi Chief. “I have never been cold myself so I can only take your word for it.”
“Just replace ‘stuck in the cold’ with ‘hungry’ and ‘a coat’ with ‘any fruit’ and you will probably have a good idea then.”
“Now that sounds really horrible!” worried the Yoshi Chief. “Hurry up and finish the first coat so we can try it on.”
“Almost done,” informed the Yoshi tailor as he worked to seal up the holes he left in the coat to add the cotton into. “Just got to finish sewing up a few spots and… done! There the coat is finished.”
“Let me give it a try then,” Anthony said and was handed the coat. He looked it over for a moment before slipping it on. “Not bad for your first fully complete coat. Actually, it is very well done. This is exactly how you should make all the coats.”
“Hahah!” smiled the tailor Yoshi, so happy. “It was nothing really. I was just doing my job. No need to praise me about it, but if you want to, go right ahead.”
“Then maybe you can work on some other things too to go with these coats,” continued Anthony. “Like pants, boots, and scarves. All those things will help us out a lot in preparing for the cold so we’re covered up as much as possible.”
“That’s sure going to be a lot of work,” he said his fingers aching a little at the thought. “But it is a nice change of pace from making nothing but saddles and shoes.
“I’ll help you out as much as I can, but for now, just try to get the coats done. That’ll be our top priority,” instructed Anthony. “Now I wanna go over and see how Michael is doing with the frier.”
“Let me come too,” insisted the Yoshi Chief. “And let me try that coat on for a bit, if you don’t mind.”
“Go right ahead,” Anthony replied taking off the coat and giving it to the chief.
He put it on just as he saw Anthony do and smiled and hugged the coat against his body. “Wearing this does actually feel very nice,” he admitted. “But it sure is hot with this on.” He wiped the sweat from his forehead and panted a lot trying to keep cool. “Are you certain that we will need even more clothes even when these coats seem plenty warm already?”
“You said you put your trust in me,” Anthony reminded him. “When the time comes, you’ll be so glad that you’re covered from head to toe.”
Time continued to pass at preparations for the tropical freeze came ever closer. The Yoshis’ change of diet from fruit to french fries had a profound effect on their bodies. The once lithe and lean Yoshis were starting for show signs of pudge on their bellies a few days after starting their all greasy, spud diet and the pudge continued to grow and spread with each successive day. Before long all the Yoshi’s looked as fat as the Yoshi Chief and the chief himself had gotten fatter than that too. This blubber was a concern to all the Yoshis at first, but Anthony assured them that the more pudge they put on now, the better they’d be off when it got cold out. Though the weather hadn’t even show even the slightest hint of it getting cold, the Yoshi’s continued to trust Anthony, mostly because it meant getting to eat as many deliciously addictive fries as they wanted regardless of how many pounds it would continue to pack onto their bodies.
More days passed and the Yoshis all continued to put on pound after pound after pound. Finally, the saddles they normally had fastened to their bodies broke off as the strap around their bellies couldn’t hold back their fattened guts and snapped off. Their shoes also tore against their chubbening toes leaving all the Yoshis barefoot, at least till Anthony decided to have them put on their new boots along with the rest of their Winter gear he wanted them to try on.
Their bare, fatty feet were wrapped in thick wool socks before being placed in comfy boots. To go along with it was a pair of thick sweat pants, a sweatshirt, an insulated jacket, gloves, and long scarves. The first thought the Yoshis had when they put their clothes on was that it was soft and comfortable. The second thought that came to them was that it was difficult to move in and unbearably hot, making them feel like the potatoes frying in the oil.
“So hot!” they all cried out in frustration.
“This was just a fitting,” Anthony shouted over all the Yoshis who wanted to run around in a panic, but could barely move to do so. “For now just wear the boots and try on the rest of the clothes only if you want to, but you’ll need it all for when it gets cold and then you’ll be overjoyed to have it on.”
“Anthony is right,” the Yoshi Chief said as he calmly removed his coat and exposed his impressive gut that hung down to his knees and now shined due to all the sweat covering it reflecting the sunlight.
“But it’s hot too even without the clothes on,” a Yoshi commented.
“All this extra pudge is making us sweaty all the time,” added another. “Maybe we should just go back to eating fruit. It isn’t as tasty, but we can’t even flutter jump anymore.”
“I understand your concerns and when this cold thing is past us we can all go back to the way things were,” assured the Yoshi Chief. “But for now, we all must simply get accustomed to all this. So I expect you all to be positive about this. After all, our fellow Yoshi, Anthony, here has done so much to help us out. We must all do our best to trust in him I know he won’t steer us wrong.”
“Of course I won’t,” Anthony agreed as he looked up at the sunny sky and felt what a scorcher it was and the idea that the island would turn into a Winter Wonderland in only a little more time seemed almost impossible. “I would never… steer you guys wrong.”
The days to come proved to only get hotter and hotter and Anthony was growing to doubt that a snowstorm was even going to come to the island even while the forecast on the radio continued to say there was. Looking at all the Yoshis, himself included, they had all continued to pack on the pounds from their all french fry diet and that mixed with the hot weather and the wintery clothes made them all sweat constantly. Every inch of their bodies was covered over in a layer of moisture that trickled down their body as quickly as new sweat emerged from their pores to replace it.
“Oh, the cold had better come soon or we’ll all just look like ridiculous fat Yoshi’s sweating to death in thick winter coats in ninety degree weather,” thought Anthony. “Worst of all, none of them will ever trust me again after making them go through all this for nothing.”
“Anthony!” called Michael trying to get into Anthony’s cottage home only to get stuck in the door.
“Michael?” asked Anthony still half in thought when he arrived.
“Uh, a little help?” he asked trying to waddle his fat rear inside with little success. Anthony grabbed his friend’s arms and pulled with all his might while trying to help him get unwedged.
“We gotta widen these doorways,” groaned Anthony. “This is the third time I’ve seen someone get stuck trying to get in or out of a cottage and that was just from today.”
“It’s being taken care of,” Michael commented. “Just going to take a while to get every cottage done.” With one more tug, Anthony finally got his friend free only to have them both stumble backwards and end up pinned down by Michael’s fat, sweaty belly.
“Sorry for all the trouble this winter prep work is causing,” apologized Anthony. “Once it passes we can all go back to the way things were before.”
“Heheh squishy,” chuckled Michael rubbing and groping Anthony’s belly with an amused look on his face.
“Uh, are you ok?” blushed Anthony seeing his friend play with his belly.
“Oh, sorry,” Michael replied looking just as embarrassed. “Just that I have started to kind of like it, being fat, I mean. And after a while of wearing all those clothes and getting all hot and sweaty I’ve started liking that too.”
“You have?” asked Anthony a bit perplexed. “Any reason why?”
“I don’t know why,” he admitted. “I just do. I was even thinking of staying like this even after we get through the cold. What about you?”
“What about me?” questioned Anthony.
“Well, you are fully clothed just like me,” Michael pointed out. “Are you enjoying being a hot, sweaty, fatty too? You’re just as fat as I am and fully dressed too.”
“I am?” Anthony said a bit surprised to see that he was. He had been wearing all his Winter garb when he was out of the cottage to help encourage the other Yoshis to wear it too, but when he was in his cottage he had taken it off cool down, but now he realized he was wearing it and felt as hot and sweaty as ever, but he didn’t seem to mind it one bit. “Heh, how about that. We’re just a couple of hothouse plants I guess.”
“A couple of what?” Michael asked.
“Uh, I’ll explain it later, but didn’t you come to see me for a reason?” Anthony reminded him.
“Yeah, everyone appears to be ready for the cold whenever it’s supposed to come. We’re all plenty plump as you can see.” Michael emphasized this by giving his belly a few gentle pats that made it wobble. “So, when is the cold supposed to get here?”
“I marked the exact date on my calendar,” explained Anthony turning to the wall it was hanging on and looked below the adorable pair of puppies in slippers to the circled date. “This is when it’ll get cold and we are currently on this day.” Anthony tapped the day directly prior and the realization poked him right back. “It’s tomorrow! It’s going to get cold tomorrow!”
“Good thing we’re ready for it,” commented Michael. “But it’s been really hot out these last few days. Is it really going to get extremely cold by tomorrow?” Anthony didn’t answer. He just began to sweat even more from just how nervous he was. “Wow, you gotta teach me to sweat like that.”
The next day came and it was the biggest scorcher any of the Yoshis on the island could ever recall happening. It was so hot that the island’s piranha plants had hide in the shade to avoid shriveling up.
The Yoshi’s had all gathered in the center of the village and awaited the cold together, huddled close, fully clothed, round with blubber, and sweating so much they were soaking through their innermost layer of clothes. Out of all of them, the one sweating the most was the Chief Yoshi, the fattest of them all by a decent margin and was sweating so much his feet were drowning in his boots.
“Where’s the cold?” one Yoshi asked trying to wipe the sweat off his forehead, but his gloved hands were soaked with so much sweat already that they didn’t do much to help.
“Uh, it should be here any minute,” Anthony replied, but looking at the sky, the only thing up there was the blazing sun shining down on them. “Let me check the radio again just to make certain it hasn’t been delayed.”
“....as for that Winter storm that was headed for Yoshi’s Island,” the weather reporter said. “Upon closer inspection we have determined that it is actually a tribe of hostile arctic denizens apparently on their way to terraform an island to claim it for their own. So this really shouldn’t even be a part of the weather forecast. However, I would also like to mention that this tribe has actually changed course from Yoshi’s Island and is now making way towards Kong Island home of the famous Donkey Kong and his primate posse. Looks like they better have a warm welcome in store for their unexpected guests or they might get the cold shoulder, heheh. As for the Yoshis, I hope you haven’t been bundling up in preparation for this cause the temperature is at an all time high and don’t expect it to go down any time soon. Coming up next, Toads, what are they hiding under those hats of theirs...” Anthony turned off the radio.
“In my defense,” Anthony pointed out. “I was not my fault that we did all this for nothing. And now things can go back to the way they were. So everyone can take off their coats so we don’t have to sweat like pigs anymore.” Anthony looked around expecting to be pelted by tons of sweating coats and pants, but nothing came flying at him. Looking around, all the Yoshis were still fully garbed even after hearing that weather report and just as Michael had been, they all looked blissfully happy to be so toasty warm and covered in perspiration over every inch of their fat frames. “Everyone, you actually likes being hot, sweaty, butterballs?” Anthony asked in disbelief.
“It’s great,” they answered. “It’s actually nice and relaxing and fun to grab at each other’s flab.”
“Indeed it is,” chucked the chief. “You certainly brought a wonderful new way of life to the Yoshis here, Anthony. You have done us all a great service and you have our thanks.”
“I came back to show you all kinds of wonderful things, but this wasn’t one of them. Yet you like it probably more than anything else. Well, maybe not counting the french fries. It’s not how I imagined how I’d help improve our lives here, but I never imagined it’d turn out like this. Guess there is only one thing to do now. Celebrate with some more fries!”
“Yeah!” cheered the Yoshi’s already drooling with excitement.
“And just wait till, I get the chance to go and bring you guys pizza,” he added. “There’s a whole lot more tasty, fattening treats out there that I still have to show you.”
“None of us know what it is, but we can’t wait,” said Michael speaking for all the Yoshis there.
And so, the island that was once known for the many colorful, fruit loving, flutter-jumping Yoshis now became known for the many colorful layers of clothes-wearing, fry devouring, wide thigh waddling, fat, sweaty Yoshis.
