well the modeling is the easy part. the rendering is what kills me. my system is a big pile of virtual crap so renders to most professionals would take like 10 minutes take hours to me

wow and rendering is what like... kind of finalizes the look, right? :\ I never COULD understandt he 3-D stuff too well...

in a way yes. Rendering is just a way of making something in 3D look real. theres loads of ways to render something and get differnt results. Povray for instance makes things look shiny and plastic like so its best used for toonish and beginning renders. YafRay is for high detail metalic sufaces and reflections. Kerkythea which i use is a unbiased/biased renderer and can perform realism in rendering based on real world light and size physics.
