An OC I made a few months ago that I have not grown entirely dissatisfied since. Plays slightly loose with RE canon, but for the most part tows the line.

Caelen Ruadh hails from the glassed crater formerly known as Raccoon City. During the final days (or - when feeling particularly aggrandizing while telling the tale - hours) of the city he managed to secure passage through the cordoning military blockade by joining another meagre pocket of survivors encountered in the midst of scavenge Raccoon University. Unfortunately, having been bitten several times during the outbreak as well as exposed to dangerous amounts of contaminated food and water supplies, inoculation with Daylight proved incapable of halting the progression of his infection. Additional doses applied directly to his nervous system managed to preserve his mind, but after almost a month of suffering his body was metamorphosed to that of a common Licker.

Since the Raccoon City Outbreak Caelen has spent the majority of his time in one form of laboratory or another. By his own reckoning his treatment in these facilities has been more than fair and tolerable (barring a handful of exceptions), if nonetheless frustrating and intimidating at times with his new anatomy doing nothing to help in such matters. Over the last two years he has been afforded a "probation" of sorts due to a mixture of good behavior along with major improvements to the availability and potency of the Daylight vaccine.
