Like, Kraest has a fairly wide nose, but I still make it an actual ring. And like I'm not asking for realism (because come on it's fucking anthro art of things that don't exist) but STILL. That weird bar-shoe thing would HURT. 8I

Maybe it's got magnets at the center. You just tug it straight out or push it straight in from either side. Still requires a big hole be pierced through your snout, but the magnets system would make it easier to insert and remove.

nah, nah. The magnets are at the halfway point of the straight bar, and the curved parts are attached at either end. The furry in question gets a tunnel bored straight through their septum, and the straight parts are just long enough that they meet at the center and hold to one another with the magnets.

Like, the septum hole heals very quickly, so if it's not, like, either a super magnet (because it'd be tiny, so it would have to be SUPER strong, especially with how much the flesh moves there), or a solid bar, there's the possibility that the centre of the hole would start closing. Putting another bar in after that would be like repiercing it, or at least putting in a gauge that's too big for the semi-closed portion, which the body would treat as an invader and respond with symptoms of infection, so there'd be pus and the possibility of the body rejecting it. >.>'

Ah jeez I didn't think of that. I've never had a piercing in my life so I have zero experience with how the body reacts to having metal shoved through it and left there. xP

I've got a bunch of holes in various places on my head so I'm all too aware of things that can go wrong with piercings. XD

That straight piercing looks uncomfortable no matter where it's put! I'll stick with my round ones.

I found my nips had healed faster with barbells than rings, actually, but everybody's body is different.

I wish we were allowed to share examples of this sort of stuff because I honestly haven't noticed but it's not something I typically would think about. Then again I don't look at a lot of art with piercings in them because some of them can get... weird.
