When I was drawing the wings for my next character, I soon started thinking about the anatomy of the wing and whether or not I needed to do some changes. I looked out other drawings of wings to better understand how it should function. The one thing that was missing was the front membrane that connects from the shoulder wing up to the wrist of the hand wing. After doing some research, I now understand that in order to create lift, the front end of the wing has to round up and thin out at the back end of the wing, much like that of wing of birds and planes. In addition, I realized that the membrane will stretch and shrink as the wing opens and closes and will not fold as fabric. So now that I understood it, I drew a sketch of the wing in full span. Of course, this means that I will have to go back to a few of my works to change only the wing anatomy, at least just three of them, the Aurora Dragon Concept Version 5, my Portrait Icon, and the Birth of Aurora.
After that I will continue to work on my next character and eventually I will make a more detailed reference sheet of the Aurorian Dragon than the simple one I had previously uploaded.
