Alright, might have a lot of things to say about this one xd
First, I freaking love how this one turned out. Ish the time when the wuff god gets all arrogant and says he did well~ I mentioned on the last YCH how I wasn't too happy with the
result and that I'd like to try going in a different direction with my art style, so that's what I tried here. So, you guys know I'm a big anime fan and I always wanted to be able to
make pictures that kinda looked like anime-screenshots, with the backgrounds being kinda realistic looking while the characters are cell-shaded, that kinda stuff. And now there
ish this new anime called Granblue Fantasy The Animation ( I think it was a game before? ), where this character, Vyrn, is from, who I absolutely love, and that he has Happy's voice
from Fairy Tail is just the best thing ever x3 Uh... so anyway, the art style of that anime speaps to me in a weird way, the characters look so... sketchy, like the linework isn't all
that clean, it's a bit rough, looks so nicely hand drawn and it reminded me a bit of the paper-look that my pics have, so I decided I wanted to learn from that anime and started studying
the style and especially the backgrounds a little. And what I noticed was that their color palette is weirdly close to what I always originally choose in my pics, BUT I always kept changing
the "hue" away from it, to make gras like super green and stuff, bu that was kinda reassuring to know I was somehow on the right way, just didn't dare to go all the way cause
I was always afraid of messing things up. And most importantly, I never dared to use shadows that were too dark, like in the YCH I reduced the shadows to 85% before posting it cause
I was afraid it'd look weird and too dark otherwise, but these more realistic backgrounds/landscapes work with so much dark color, that shit was freaking spooky to me when I took
screenshots and checked the colors x3 But it works! It just looks... so alive, like there are actually things on the picture that have weight and make sense. And it's so much easier
to make gras look like actual gras, or the ground, just everything I guess. The trees look still very alpha-ish here but that's cool, I like it, I like how it still works combined with everything else.
So, yeah I'm just talking and talking x3 But I just really loved this whole process, which was at NO point at all tedious or frustrating. Trying to come up with new coloring technics
for this was a lot of fun, everything felt nice and fresh like something completely new I've never done before, and I think the whole result actually looks nice. Far away from good, I
know that, but it's a nice start I think and I'd really like to practice this more realistic style for backgrounds more often from now on. So yeah, woof happy~
And speaking of happy woof, woof likes Vyrn's paw design x3 Which I don't normally speak of, but they look so soft and squishy, a lot better in the actual anime, you really should
go check it out, not only for the paws lol x3
Well, hope you like it, too

Vyrn is so cute~
But damn, the background looks amazing *.* This is a style of background that I've always tried to do, but I've never been successful. But then again, I don't have that much patience to study and train either x3 but I've tried every now and then. Got to give it another try again~

you should give dragon drive a watch they have some nice cute dragons in there http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net.....20150507172024
As someone who was not aware this character even existed until now (could be how little anime I watch), his design caught my attention in an "ooh, who's this wonderful creature" kind of way when I looked in my inbox today. Chancing upon him first in a macro context is a nice plus, but even then, consider me a fan already.
