Billed as a patent medicine for female empowerment with "1001 extracts of dragon's blood and fire," Tiamat Tonic was really nothing more than a soda pop with some Socotran dragon's blood resin mixed in. That resin is well-known for bringing latent draconic ancestry to the fore or even inducing dracomorphosis, but the primary downfall of Tiamat Tonic seems to be that it promised more than it could deliver. A flaming burp or a sudden lust for gold was the extent that most imbibers experienced, although there were enough incidents of pink dragonesses raining destruction that a disclaimer was pressed into every bottle.
"Though it didn't turn people into raging, flaming dragonesses as often as the advertising indicated, it did bring about a certain draconic cunning, ruthlessness, and pyromania that one could view as certainly refreshing against the stultifying mores of any era as regards young ladies. But, of course, some of them did become raging, flaming dragonesses."
