And this is what a couple of tired puppies look like after a long day of hiking! We rented a minivan for the trip up, which has lots of floor space for doggie beds, which is especially appreciated by Rio and her creaky old bones. Wizzie is totally zonked out!

Dawww! I wish I could do that with my husky... But when she get's tired, she just lays down (bless her heart). I'd end up carrying her for half a trail. xD

We thankfully have not reached that point with either of our huskies. Wizard probably wouldn't complain too much about being carried, but he's a heavy boy! Rio is much lighter, but she would not like being carried at all, no matter how tired she was. We'd have to sit and wait until she was ready to go again.

Awww...cute! I'm jealous of you having a dog you can trust to go off-leash. Wizard actually slipped out of his collar on this trip at one point, which lead to some pretty tense moments as he realized he could run a lot farther from me than usual.
