Cy Toht, nació en la isla de Paradais, un estado parcialmente aislado del mundo, en el que se profesa una fe milenaria. Cy nació con una amrca de nacimiento en el rostro lo que hizo que se le considerada como maldito. Condenado al abandono y la miseria, Cy tuvo que sobrevivir robando, hasta que finalmente termino siendo capturado y que como castigo su mano fuera cortada. En la cárcel él fue rescatado por una secta herética que veía en él, el cumplimiento la profecía del demonio Zerkhelt.
Con ayuda de sus nuevos seguidores logro huir al extranjero y enlistarse en una prestigiosa universidad, donde fue colega de Sabina, quien desconocía sus extraños origen. Cy consiguió remplazar su brazo con uno cibernético, y al graduarse regreso a Paradais para asumir su papel como líder de la secta. Cy es conocido en los círculos internacionales por estar involucrado en el contrabando de piezas arqueológicas, y el robo de objetos místicos. Pero además su secta es responsable de varios crímenes dentro y fuera de Paradais
