I was feeling extra proud of myself! So I wanted to show off some detail shots of "Edge of the World".

He's colored a lot lighter than he is in the comic because this was intended for print, and at default, he's far too dark for print. I dunno though, I may lighten him up all the time now...

The lighter fur shade does look very good on him, but the jet black he currently dons is more fitting of his twisted personality. Still, something sees more natural about this grey as opposed to the black.

joel is so awesome i still can't decied who i like more joel, matt, or roland but ya on another note awesome pic joel dose look abit better abit lighter to you can make out more detail of him and such

Yeah i do like a slightly "lighter" Joel, While the Jet Black really does fit him, some times not being able to SEE him and just seeing pitch black can get kinda "Bleah" IMO

Well, when you think about it, in RL, black objects aren't black, strictly speaking.
Fact, if you were painting a pic of a black object, you'd use pretty much any color *but* black.

And, yes, Immi, you *should* feel extra proud. :3

It is very well done. This gray Joel isn't bad, but I prefer the black one. Also, yay for bulges. ^.^

personally i dun like the new joel >.<... i dunno, maybe his eyes are too big for his head, but something there looks just wrong. He's not the same se-maniac we met on the older comic pages D;

Lighter wouldn't hurt, I <3 him all black like he is, but me and Araclast noticed he has gone too black and hard to see details and such so it's worth lightening his color more, though maybe for his 'darker' moment when all the darkness is around the place like in latest few comics, he could be the deep black he has been lately. =3
