Do espresso machines like that one make a big difference? I tried french pressing coffee but didn't like the strong earthy taste. I currently drink cinnamon k-cups, but most k-cup keurig coffee isn't very good.
I like starbucks (don't laugh). Is a kitchen appliance like that what I've been looking for?

All the different methods are way different from a flavor pov.
If you find a French press too earthy then you won't really like the mocha pot. My recommendation would be an Aero Press https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004.....A302OQK4GZWXCC it will maximize the coffee flavor but it will be super smooth and non earthy.
If you get one let me know how it works out.

The big difference is how long the water is in contact with the grounds. The coffee tastes closer to a really really good and full bodied espresso shot. I would say that a drip coffee machine is a little closer to a french press.
They don't have any kinda stand but honestly, any decent mug will be totally fine with the pressure. I just wouldn't do it on my fine china!
