Oh no, nothing quite as sophisticated is involved. It starts with a 3D file. Dreamworks, the studio that makes the movies, released some 3D models of the main characters as a promotion. https://free3d.com/3d-model/kung-fu.....ers-94158.html
The model didn't have a base so I put it into a program called 3D Builder (comes free with Windows 10) and made a base for her and attached her to it. I then exported the file to the 3D printer software that converts the file to something it can work with and "slices" it into tiny layers. The printer works by laying down layer by layer and builds up the model. Imagine taking a tube of toothpaste and squeezing out a pattern of a square on the bathroom counter. Let it dry a little then make another layer on top. Keep doing that and you will eventually have a 3D cube on your counter.
Making her look like hammered bronze involves epoxie clay and a ball bearing. I slathered on the clay then pressed the bearing into the soft clay creating an indention. Repeat until it looks like you want then let it harden. Rub-n-Buff the high areas and yur done.
