In real life, during the frenzied clashes of the whitetail rut, if two bucks' antlers are configured in just the right (or wrong) way, their tines can become interlocked. If they can't untangle themselves, the animals can be stuck together for days, unable to eat, drink, or do much of anything else. Eventually, one of them may die of thirst, starvation, or exhaustion, or if it's lucky, it will break its neck while thrashing around, trying to escape. At that point, the other buck must drag his dead opponent around for the rest of his gruesome life. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence.

At least in the situation depicted here, one buck has the forethought to apologize. :)
