Hey everybody, got a slightly different picture than usual for you today. Been working on this one for a bit.
Anybody remember my scolipede? Mamta? More commonly called Mam or Big Mam? She's appeared in a story or two of mine and I drew her a while back as seen here.

Well I decided to try and redraw her with how much I'd improved since then and give her a proper reference page since she's one of the most physically complex characters I have (also inspired by my friend
xehta13's picture of his own scolipede~). What do you think? Also since I don't wanna spoil any info about her just yet (have plans for her to play a big role in some stories) gonna let the info in her bio speak for itself… alongside a few physical quirks I shall mention below~
- Thanks to her family's long and many branched family tree (both her beedrill father's and her scolipede mother's) Mam is a mutt among insects. Her lineage has a plethora of different bug types of all different builds and sizes. Because of this Mam's parents had no idea about things like how many arms she'd have till after she was born (or how evolution would change that) or whether she'd be a taur/quadruped as a scolipede. This is further shown with how her little siblings all have varying body builds compared to her. Her massive size is also attributed to this long tendency of mixed breeding since the rest of her family are more average height wise.
- The purple spikes/stingers on her armored arms are actual extendable, able to go from less than an inch to a couple inches in length if she wants them to. This allows her to handle things (like her baby siblings) without the risk of poking or hurting them while also letting her use them in battle.
- While her carapace (aka the purple shell) is actually surprisingly durable (even for her species) which assists her in combat… her grey underbelly is, in contrast, incredibly soft, touchable, and susceptible to gaining weight. As her large tummy and posterior, both of which she's sensitive about, clearly demonstrate.
Anyway that's all the body facts/quirks about her I care to share at the moment~
