FBA Sophomore and Soon-to-be Free Agent Sterling Bengtzing, age 22, has announced today that a plan to set a Guinness World Record in his off-season this summer is in the works, event that would make him one of the first few FBA athletes to possess one outside of in-league achievements.
“The most games of Twenty-One played in 24 hours in multiple towns; no one has ever done this and I’m aiming to set the bar **** high and go for fifteen.” Bengtzing responded.
“We had a long and difficult discussion on how to approach this, since we had to set the rules and the measuring of what a game of Twenty-One would officially entail. But we loved the idea and overall, I feel the consensus we reached with Mr. Bengtzing is satisfactory, entertaining and fulfilling of any criteria to follow.” said Katherine Luo, representative for the GWR organization.
“Just look at this...” the polecat commented as he got two large folders filled to the brim. “******* look at all of this! Three hundred sixty three applicants. Holy ****, three hundred sixty three. Shortlisting the participants down to around just a hundred will be a ******* nightmare!” The effort of scouting players for the different games to be performed has been done by Bengtzing, aided the Stockholm Stormvind organization. The mustelid stressed he would hold his criteria when selecting the final participants with the utmost insistence.
“I’m giving the most priority to the immediate Swedish potential. Furs that… want to get something out of this. Give a shot to those who want to give a shot to the Euro league, the FBA, journalism, something to do with basketball and realistically get it in the following years. Give them that push by being part of something this ******* big and build Sweden’s basketball reputation in the short term.” Bengtzing explained.
“We’re sending an adjudicator with him to confirm the rules are followed and grant the record on the spot if successful, while Mr. Bengtzing himself is calling and recruiting help in transportation and medical services if needed, with others providing media coverage.”
“Setting a Guinness World Record is... ******* hard as hell, no other way to put it. It’s something that takes an insane amount of effort and sacrifice, but I wanted to do something that was challenging, for all Swedes to look up to and take matters in their own paws. Work up to build the basketball image as well as their own because, as the title of this journey puts it [Route to Tokyo, referencing the 2020 Summer Olympics and the fact Sweden hasn’t qualified since their invitation to Moscow 1980 via other’s boycotts], if we make it strong enough, this country is bound for great things, no doubt. And I am going to the core to find that talent the way I know the best talent for sports resides in: With ************* streetball.”
“This is the best thing that has happened to the Swedish basketball scene in a long time...” said Rikard Göransson, current General Manager of the Stockholm Stormvind. “Just as with his father, Sterling can only expect only the most staunch support from the organization should he need anything in this venture.”
It’s worth to note that, on the day the mustelid will attempt this extraordinary stunt, he will be in the FBA’s free agency; Bengtzing assuring this only strengthens his drive and brings a fresh slate to the situation. “When the day rolls, I will have no ties to any team whatsoever. This record will be only my brainchild and the merit of all the participants. My gift to them. The time is now; I have the resources, the energy and the will to give that country the recognition it deserves.”
Several businesses are reported to sponsor the event, from Volvo offering vehicular aid to the supermarket chain Coop Forum, while Kanal 5 is set to air the event as it unfolds. The exact schedule and players set to take part will be determined shortly, but it has been confirmed the journey will start in Gothenburg and end in Stockholm.
“Sweden, you are officially amazing. And it’s time to set that fact in stone.”

And here you go an off-season arc I am hoping to really unravel and make for celebration of Sterling's Free Agency. Stay tuned, for there is more to come!
