These are just fan characters for Shovel Knight, i wanted to draw and i like the game, and these ideas came into my head while i was at work so i decided to put some effort into it. Here we go.
Waterbird Knight
Level- Waterbird Knight's stage involves riding fast moving logs or boats and climbing vines. Falling in the water is a death hazard. The enemies are monkeys, birds and jumping fish.
Relic- Magic Feather, which causes Shovel Knight to perform a front flip in the air. The flip damages enemies and acts as a small second jump. The flip continues until Shovel Knight lands, but he loses the ability to move until landing.
Boss Dialogue-
Waterbird Knight: Ah, Shovel Knight, tis a shame the rapids didn't take you away.
Shovel Knight: This river used to be tranquil you fowl bottom feeder! Whatever magics you are using must be stopped!
Waterbird Knight: Is that so, Tin Man? You'll be sleeping with the fishes!
Fight- Waterbird Knight dives into the water, then leaps across the boat in various directions. He can also leap up from the water and then throw a volley of feathers across the screen which can be avoided or knocked back with the shovel. Sometimes he lands on the boat and uses slow melee attacks with his razored arm armor, but the attacks are noticably easy to avoid and counter.
Defeat- WBK slowly flips in the air, feathers bursting from him, then falls into the water and splashes around as he is swept away.
Swamp Knight
Level- Swamp Knight's stage involves mud which causes slow movement, and water which is a death hazard. There are several small cave areas which have different enemies and no mud, usually involving carefully jumping or bouncing across rocks surrounded by water. Around half way through the level Shovel Knight must bounce on a sleeping Swamp Knight to progress, thus waking her. The enemies are crocodiles (which cannot be killed, only bounced atop), bats, giant mosquitoes and mud slimes.
Relic- Magic Ankh, which gives a short term weak regeneration at a huge mana cost.
Boss Dialogue-
Shovel Knight: Ho, Swamp Knight! Many thanks for the assist earlier.
Swamp Knight: You woke me from my nap Blunder Knight, and destroyed half the swamp on your way through!
Shovel Knight: My appologies, nothing must stop me in my quest.
Swamp Knight: I think some compensation would make amends. How about 100,000 gold?
Shovel Knight: That's extortionate, you slimy crook!
Swamp Knight: Then i'll beat a payment out of you!
Fight- Swamp Knight's fight takes place in an arena fully made of mud, making it extremely difficult to move unless you jump across a series of short wooden pegs. She can throw her hammer like a boomerang and sometimes climbs the trees in the background before dropping somewhere else with a body slam. Swamp Knight's hammer slams knock the pegs into the ground and cause shock waves which need to be jumped over, freeing up previously burried pegs. Swamp Knight moves slowly and turns slower, but needs to be hit from the ground, so fighting her requires pogo bouncing on her hammer and head to get behind her and then taking shots while it's safe.
Defeat- Swamp Knight staggers back and her hammer spins into the air, then hits her on the head before falling to her side. She falls to her knees then drops face first into the mud fast asleep, with Zs floating off her.
If you liked these leave a comment, i would like to know. If you want one of your own my art isn't great but i won't charge much (depends on what you want) and i'll give it a go.
