Begun in 1723. The oldest stone dates from that year. It was neglected for decades. It was closed to the public when I first saw it as a teenager in the 80s. Had to get permission from someone who met my family and I at the gate with a key.
Now it's open to the public and treated as a park/historical attraction.
It still looks like you're away from civilization while you're in there, though.~
