I think you do a really great job with your 3D rendering work, and Im really glad you utilize your scraps gallery so we can see how your work develops over time. I do. It's very fun for me to think out the way how to make models and develop it using morphs. :) But to tell the truth, this Jackal is based on the model of Black Jackal. *giggle* Only I have to do was making the head and changing some body parts.

Funny thing to note about those shields; they're not actually a 3d object. The energy shield part is actually simply that, a 2 dimensional forcefield. That and this guy seems a tad too beefy for a jackal imo

still, nice modeling and render :3
