A while back on Subnautica there was a really big texture bug for almost everything in the game. The textures were heavily corrupted to the point where a lot of them looked like rainbows, which the community ended up referring to as the "Skittles". Bonesharks were a noteworthy example of the bug, but at least they looked cool with it!

You should be good with Warpers until you go down deeper into areas like the Lost River! Near the start of the game when you're still relatively uninfected they'll just stare at you because they know you're not that infected and they'll leave you alone. Once you get more infected then yeah they're gonna want you dead. It's a great little detail though!
