This could easily be a Twilight Zone or Out Limits episode. Specifically, the Twilight Zone episode 'A Nice Place To Visit' comes to mind a bit. It manages to mix a nice, friendly atmosphere of the poker game with the melancholy of..well...the fact that the pilots are dead. The ending was a nice touch too.
Also, as a personal anecdote, the timing of you uploading this was quite co-incidental as one of the books I'm reading through is First Light, a memoir of Spitfire pilot Geoffrey Wellum.
Hania.
P.S. Fred's an asshole.

You left out a " in where it's italicized. Sorry for my errors, stupid program wouldn't let me copy/paste it for some reason.

Missing opening "
I was out over the Pacific flying with the navy that time. I remember I was flying a Hellcat. One minute I was fine and the next… well… seems I caught fire and there I was at the gate.”
opening "
Don't bet with match sticks - that there's playing with fire boys!
