The five oldest stones in the North Cemetery are all homemade fieldstones. Two of them are carved with not much more than chicken-scratch.
I only deciphered this one with the help of a photo taken by archivist Daniel Farber, whose work can be found on http://farber.davidrumsey.com .

I -can- pick out the bit that says Mr. Ibenson DPARTED THIS LIF, however.~
