An experimental illustration style that MXXXIII and I worked on today for our personal day.
This is a style that Marl has been working with me to achieve. He told me two years ago when we started doing business together that he wanted to make me a more versatile artist. While working on this, he pulled out his tablet (which is hard for him to do) and drew out concepts as we worked on this to put into the final image. He walked me through the scenery such as the cliff he's on as well as cloud placement. He showed me how to draw the gun (and guns in general) properly after having an extremely tough time with them in the past.
We're considering offering this particular style of commissions, titling them "Scene Illustrations". Lately I've been feeling a bit stifled, trapped in my normal art style. It all had to be polished, had to be perfect. This style breaks those inhibiting habits and honestly provides a better result. We both agree that this style will push me another step up in my artistic journey.
What do you guys think? With enough positive feedback, we can open these!

In truth, I have been waiting to see this type of work come from you.
Very imprested in the execution from this. It looks like a very well done concept piece and would be very highly loved from all kind's of consumers.
Even myself, if you can give me this kind of realism with the feelings like this.
Please offer more like these >×<

ok after reviewing the rest of your gallery i can see where the 2 key diffences are in the new style vs current.
1. atmosphere incorporation: the characters you draw are bad ass you have a great hold on anatomy, its the marriage of your characters with the atmosphere that is a major breakthrough in this piece, everything from texture to lighting to detail variation in accordance. rendering of the atmosphere so it feels like the character is "a part of it" instead of "on top of it" helps. I recommend you continue working on this as part of your tech shift.
2. details details, the painter approach is one of give and take with details, knowing when to give more and put less, artist like WLOP and SAKIMICHAN are great at this, but to do so is definitely a break from the line art style and approach you are use too, ( i suffer from this myself sometimes ) also recommend if you want to go in this direction to work one balancing where to dig in with details and where to let go. It will help greatly with this new direction your trying to pursue.
