Done today at Starbucks while listening to Russian Circles (whom you should totally check out because they are fucking amazing). I used to have those camp chairs out on my balcony until they wore out. Mostly from me sitting in them like that. Come on, that is a fucking comfortable position, damn it!
Anyway, tried a new style with the face, and I really like it. Of course, I used smudge shading, a.) because everyone tells you not to, and yet it is taught in elementary school art classes and b.) because it's the only shading that I'm any good at.
Still unfinished. I'll probably erase the shading tomorrow and try to speed paint it or something. I did the sketch fairly quickly, and by fairly quickly, I mean by my usual standards. Normally, this would take me around three hours to get the pose, musculature, and especially, the face just right, but this time it only took me about 45 minutes or so. Ish.
Also, yes, I did quit smoking, but you're not supposed to inhale pipe smoke, so I only technically smoke, not figuratively.

If I see any murry purry bullshit about his bulge, I will not hesitate to delete this picture and repost it just to get rid of your comment.
