So for the last two months, I picked up hobbies to fill my free time between all my other hobbies. Something I could do from my desk that would not take up a lot of space. Also, I play D&D on Friday nights over at a friends house. So I thought I give miniature painting it a try. So this is my latest one.
I'm super happy with how it looks.
The miniature came from https://www.heroforge.com/ where you can build your own mini just the way you want.

i often use extremely fine point markers to mock text lines on books and armor decals and putting a couple layers of extremely watered down paint (basically the lightest tinting you can tolerate looking at) goes a long way towards simulating dirt and shadows in recessed parts... like cracks in armor, rivets, cloth folds... fur textures. don't just "ink" it along the edge either, get the whole area with it, it will settle thin on flat surfaces and dry darker in textured areas. trick is knowing when to stop, if it's too dark it looks kinda janky, but light shading like that tends to look awesome :o
