Hi guys! :) I would like to make a little promotion.
I got asked by Christian Ahlin to work with him in his new project, Tatorship, a cute card game about dictator potatoes :) This game will teach how democracies work, and how you break it down (so people can identify the signs). But to make it more fun, the dictators will be cute potato people :D
The game is still in a pretty early stage, there might even be a Kickstarter for it in the near future. So stay tuned for more artworks and promos :) Here is it’s website, but it’s still under construction:

If you don’t know who Christian Ahlin is, you can check out his previous game, Triniton. It’s a whole role playing experience, with novells, soundtrack, card game, and a pretty sweet and easy to learn role playing game. Oh, and by the way, if you didn’t know already, most of it’s illustration was done by non other than me ;) So if you like role playing, I would highly recommend cheking his game, and it’s not just me, it got a lot of really nice reviews too! :)

I just have one tiny little question. Why does Trump have to be the one representing U.S. Shouldn't Obama be there instead. After all he's the one who put the U.S. through eight years of absolute hell and pretty much abused the living crap out of his power, just to pass a absolute shitty healthcare plan. All Trump's done has made the country better all the while having to put up with bullshit that aren't true about him and clean up Obama's shit. If this is a game about Dictator's Trump shouldn't be on this list, it should Obama.

These were just a few starter characters, just to check if I can make the right style for the game. So I'm sure a lot more will come, but I'm just the artist, I don't have anything to do with the actual game mechanic and cahracter, so I will only find out what I have to draw as the game designer progresses with his ideas :)
Political views aside, I think it's a bit unfair to blame/reprimand the artist for what they do and don't include.
She stated in the description that someone else is in charge of the project and she was just commissioned to the art for it. You'd likely get more of an answer bringing up the concern with them rather than here.

I have been working with Christian (the game designer) for years now. I illustrated his big role playing game, Triniton as well. He's a kind person, with a lot of nice ideas, and I was very happy to work with him again. He has a huge amount of passion toward his projects, and he wanted to make a funny little game about potato people, and with the intent to show and teach people a few things too. These are just silly potatoes in a silly game. You can drop a nuke on anyone in the Civilization series with Ghandi as well. Everything is the players choice, not the character in it. I'm sorry if you are offended by this game, the best thing you can do is not supporting Christian in his project, because everyone should have his own opinion. I wasn't planning to bring my political views here (and I'm not good in politics eather...), that's why I stated, that I only do the drawings, and I think they turned out silly and cute. This is just a silly little card game with potatoes, nothing more, nothing less.
I know it might automatically seem like so, because its the internet, but i am not offended. Im Russian myself, and there are THREE russian figures in the game. Am i offended? Hell no, because in the end its true (Putin is technically more towards oligarchy, but still). I perfectly understand its a silly card game, and i have no problems with that, humor is allowed to touch all sides of political spectrum.
The problem i have is that, as you said in the description yourself, the game is aimed "to teach". Thats exactly the point where the game stops being "all fun and silly" and goes into completely different category. Yes, you can nuke everyone in Civilisation, but it doesnt claim to teach you about real history. This game claims to be doing so. And because of that, Trump being included is a major negative point. Again, im Russian myself, me and generations of my family line know how it is to live under a dictatorship. Trump is not even remotely close to that category in the slightest, and claiming that he is one is nothing more than a matter of personal opinion. And personal bias has NO place in education. Either removing Trump from the list of characters, or editing the core concept of the game to no longer claim its "educational" would help(because otherwise, as i just said, its NOT "just a silly little card game with potatoes" at all)
Yes yes, i know im seen as an asshole in everyone's eyes and that im "personally attacking innocent artist", but when you decided to post this artwork on your own personal page(instead of staying on business side of the game only), you opened yourself up to critique, which is just exactly what im doing here - trying to give a piece of constructive feedback, even if people automatically piercieve saying anything but "wow its awesome!" as being rude.
In any case, you're right, i will relay my concerns to the creator of the game. I just hope you understand the situation at the same time aswell, especially when you, again, decided to share it publically.

It's been three years. Three long years since this was released, I still remember the mixed reaction I got from it and probadly still do. Though at the time those three years ago I was...blinded and full of hate and rage on the last president. That it wouldn't be untill jeeze Im not sure how long it took me to see the whole truth before me.
I once replied Obama should've been on this instead of Trump. I was wrong. I was so very wrong. Now and days I look back at the last president and feel sad and sorry for him hell I wished I had known the big truth of everything back then.
I still stand by with my reasons on why Trump still shouldn't be on here or even in this game. However I do regret saying Obama should've taken his place as in the end of the day, for what I know he was just a puppet to the whole system of Goverment and for all I know the stuff they said on the internet and stuff that made me so angry back then were just lies to make me so blind at the time.
If there's anyone, any president in all of history that best represents a Dictator at it's worse to best showcase as a Tatorship.
It should be Andrew Jackson, America's Seventh president, the man responsible for the Trail of Tears, the guy whose face is on our Twenty Dollar Bills, and the only US President Hitler himself looked up to and was said to have been inspired to do the Holocost on the Jews from what Andrew did to Native Americans.
Trump shouldn't be on that list to represent America's Dictator, but neither should Obama either, instead it should be the one President who actually did kill thousands of innocents like all the others on this list have done.
