Maybe its just me, I dunno, but looking at the rest of the thumbnails in your gallery I just assume it was a rough painting. I say this because I keep reading comments stating people thought it was a photo in the thumbnail. They just have no idea what can be accomplished with painting and time. It makes me so very disappointed in them.
You on the other hand, once again do me proud with your well executed studies. I actually love the blotchy way of painting for stuff like this because it makes for great concept art. The image as a whole works as such because its defined enough to clearly understand all the necessary details while being loose enough to not be constrained by details, its rough, fun, and most importantly it looks good and accurate. The colors by themselves convey enough to get a sense of photo-real lighting, without being sharply rendered.

Thank you very much, again. After a certain amount of work it becomes redundant to continue painting. It's kind of like writing. There's a point when you need to stop rendering an image, because it loses the original essence. The rough strokes convey the artist's expression and emotion.
