Some more quick-ish practice - a Mexican wolf (love their coloring). Fur is still wonky, but sucking less I feel like.

I think the left ear, or right ear if you WERE the wolf. is too round. Maybe it's just me... with my ridiculously tall pointy ears I love.

Yeah, now that I look at it more closely the ears don't exactly match :p

The color and brush strokes look very nice, as well as the eye lighting. Very nice!

Thanks! I was definitely trying to go for a 'brushier' look. Although when I look at it closer the fur doesn't exactly pop like I want it too. I think I might need to use some smaller brushes on top a bit more.

Well, have you tried also adding another layer on top, with a light yellow or something, then paint in some streaks of light? That may get some parts to pop a bit more for you. Kinda hard to say while typing though lol

Also set that new layer to "overlay" so it blends with the colors underneath them as well. That way it doesn't get too over-saturated with the light color

I have started doing overlay layers a bit, but this piece I didn't if I remember correctly. The overlay layers have been helpful for sure. I just have to figure out exactly how to use them. :)
