Someone once described the British politician David Lloyd George as being like a great soft pillow that kept the impression of the last mind that lay upon it. In a way, my style of drawing seems to be very much like that - exposure to another's distinctive style will sometimes have a fairly strong effect. Case in point: about a month ago I picked up a copy of _The Sweeter Side of R. Crumb_ (a title rife with irony, as Crumb himself points out), and while I by no means care to compare this scribbled effort to his mature work, I doubt I would have done this, and several other pieces (some appearing here on FA), in this way otherwise. Ah, well, maybe I'll get over it in time.
