Ocarina of Time manga. Its different from the game in many ways while following the same general story line. Volvagia is certainly different and very sad.

Ocarina of Time. Part 2. It flashes back to childhood where Link made friends with a baby dragon. Fast forward and that same dragon was corrupted by Ganon and Link was forced to kill it,

....thats heart breaking. ;n;

Oh, I remember when Link met Volvagia, it was a wonderful friendship but after the confrontation in the Temple of Fire it was so saddening how it ended

I thought I had heard it was said the manga interpretation of Volvagia was based on his actual in-game backstory. Fire Temple Gorons or Kakariko residents or whomever said Volvagia was the guardian of the Fire Temple or something like that before Ganondorf claimed the Triforce of Power and put Volvagia under his control. Both OoT interpretations of a somewhat antihero-y monster seem to coincide with Valoo's extremely apparent good nature and Volga's ambiguous alliances; simply wishing to fight a worthy opponent; see Ryu's backstory. As such, red dragons in Zelda can go both ways. Eyebrow wiggle. X3

i got volume 2 of the oot manga after hearing about it's version of volvagia, but apparently he showed up in volume 1. there are some villains in the zelda mangas that i feel sorry for. 2 had to fight link against their will, and another sacrificed themself to stop the main villain. those are just the ones I've seen. there are probably more in the other volumes
