I had a friend who was putting together a tarot deck featuring artwork from
people she knew. I signed on to contribute "The Emperor" and "The High Priestess".

Some of you might recognize the compsition allusion to Francis Bacon's
"Screaming Pope" paintings.

There's other iconography and power symbols, etc. I think I'd also
just picked up my copy of the beautifully illustrated Thoth tarot deck, so
I was starting to more consciously dabble in mysticism as a source of imagery.
