Came back here after a bit of an absence, got to browsing my overflowing inbox, came across this, thought I'd give it a look.

Very nicely done. The cynical old fart in me is always trying to analyze (perhaps the curse of being an engineer, trying to figure out everything, where it came from, how it works, instead of just accepting and enjoying it as it is). I read through this, expecting, as I often do, to see just where it is going...

And I couldn't. I found myself thinking, more than once "Well, I didn't see that coming." Always a wonderful surprise, and seems to fit entirely with the existing characters, or at least the way that I understand them. I think that's another difficulty with a good amount of this fanfic stuff, people reworking canon characters in ways that don't seem accurate or simply don't make sense. I'm glad to see that we don't have that here, very nicely done!

Although I also have to wonder and giggle a bit, thinking about how many read through straight to the end, wondering when the hot dicking was going to start.

Given my past work, there had to be some assumption that I could do that, and I am certainly able to, but if I do I would not put it with the main story, it would be an aside. If you have not seen it yet, there IS more to this specific story on my AO3 account to enjoy. It is only the first part of what is currently a 4 part series.

Don't worry, I'm currently working through that. Giggled at the bit about the fanfics, very recursive or as the kids these days say, 'meta'.

That was actually the first of all of these that I wrote, and did it on a lark, wanting to just throw something like that down on paper. But I had a lot of nice comments about it and had a lot of fun writing the characters. So I never stopped. o.o'

I particularly enjoyed how filtering out the erotic stories removed about 4/5 of the listings. Same thing here, I'm sure.
