I couldn't just do only one thing for Mermay, I just couldn't. Imagine my surprise to find out that this actually happened in the comics though, Supergirl was in fact once turned into a mermaid by red Kryptonite. That's not even the only mermaid transformation in a silver age DC comic, Lois Lane once got surgery to become a mermaid after an accident left her lungs collapsed and her legs crushed. Tragic near death aside, that's an aspect of the DC Universe nobody ever seems to discuss, apparently "mermaidoplasty" is a thing. So next time you get into an argument over which is better, Marvel or DC, pull that out if you're defending DC, nobody's gonna argue with that. As much as I also personally prefer Marvel, Marvel's never had any mermaid transformations that I'm aware of.
