Behind him is a black fire, an ethereal flame he learned to create. It gives ghosts special powers, but cannot be invoked without the "fire triangle".... all except for the initial heat source. There's more in the profile.

If you notice, the gengar's shadow (which wouldn't exist without the black fire) is not in the same pose as Sunlight himself. It's subtle, but the shadow's supposed to be giggling with a hand to its invisible smile.

Medium: Colored pencils with a number 2 pencil for outlines and the night shading (it's terrible, I know) and marker for the eyes; so they stand out and seem to glow, like actual Gengar eyes.
