Page 10: HOOKSHOT!
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Description:
Nishidor is forced to race Dampé the Gravekeeper, who is much faster than our hero.
Since he can't be out-run, and because the fire that Dampé drops is blocking the path, Nishidor pulls out his friend's ocarina, and throws it at Dampé to stop him from finishing in first.
For winning, Nishidor receives Dampé's Hookshot, and uses it to escape the underground.
After looking back at the cracked Ocarina, he wooshes away into the forest, to look for his old friend Saria.
It's not until he hookshots every creature in the Forest Temple that he's finally able to find his old friend again.
Commentary:
I wish I could have done more with the Lost Woods. I feel like it's a great metaphor in the series - being lost and confused at a certain time in your life, but with there still being some hope that you'll find your way through.
I've felt like that a lot recently, but I guess every does.
I kinda skipped a joke about how Sheik never teaches you any songs until AFTER you get to that spot in the game. Not very useful. ]:

Lol, your face is on the treasure chest. That is awesome. <XD The Hookshot is awesome. I remember that part with the stump and the tree...lol. How is the Ocarina going to get fixed?
The songs are helpful, I think at one point you have to go back to some places to get some things. <:3

Ehehe, I wanted to sneak something in there to show some sort of bond or relation between my hammy and the raccoon. :3
I like that peaceful little stump area! :3 But... even if the Ocarina is damaged, maybe it can be fixed? I'm not sure - but we'll see what happens with it in the next panel. ;3
Yeah... but I wish h could have just given us the songs all at once!

It can never get too easy! ;D Bwuhaha, naw... I guess it was funner to learn them one at a time... the songs were pretty! :3 I was listening to people play covers of them all while I was working on this comic. (:
Hehe, I think at least in the very end, the ocarina will be okay. (:

<LoL!> Never would've saw the Ocarina as a weapon concept. Though, it is quite the clever little idea. You go, Nishidor!
Huzzah! The Hookshot is at last a part of this grand series. I've been waiting for the epic item to slip in. May the fun begin! Especially as, with no sword, it's the closest thing to a weapon that Nishidor has. Actually, the concept of beating the daylights out of someone with a hookshot is quite funny. It's kind of like a chain noise is heard followed by someone wondering what it is and then, THWACK! Kazootles!

Ehehe, I might suck trying to use actual weapons, but when it comes to making use of the useless, like the empty bottle "gifts" you get. :B
When I finished the comics, it felt weird reading over all earlier ones without a hookshot... but now that we've reached the middle of the comic, and the changing point in the story, I'm hoping for more fun times ahead! :D I'll even have something I've worked on to celebrate it within the next day or so. :B
Thanks yo! :D

LIES! Sheik teaches you the song for the Shadow Temple and you can't even reach that spot with out it. Though, I guess it is the graveyard, but still...
You're so funny. I've always loved the music when you open the chest and get an item! BTW, how come Dampe's all young and not gross or igorish? Just curious. OCARINA'S NOT A WEAPON! Haha.

Okay... well that's one thing... BUT HE TEACHES YOU AFTER YOU DIG AROUND IN THE WELL. I don't even remember what the point of that one was. ;O;
Dununununununu... I think I have that part at least twice iin the comic... it's a big part of the experience! :D
Oh, and I wanted to make this comic a little more personal, so I used someone else that would seem dreary and depressed, instead of quirky and ugly as a gravekeeper. Just havin' fun. :3
ANYTHING IS A WEAPON IF YOU USE IT RIGHT!
